It's time for you to become a meido, /jp/. Your dream will come true in just a few years.

>> No.9699846

Gonna do my best to bully the HELL out of the new janitors.

>> No.9699848

I was banned yesterday - just 24 hours - for reporting that Yama retard. Aside from that, my only posts were in shitty threads that I had already reported as rule violations.

My point is: if one of you becomes a janitor please don't ban people because they reported you for shitposting.

Someone write a quality application for me. I don't like writing.

I look forward to working with anyone else who is accepted, though I hardly think I need the extra help.

So how will we call our new janitor?

Janitors cannot ban. Only mods or moot can ban.

Rejected.

I don't see the point in becoming a janitor. You have to deal with people's shitty posting all day, jerk off in IRC with the mods, and you don't even get paid. What's the benefit? You've made the board slightly less shitty for only as long as you're deleting garbage. The second you stop, the shitposting will come back. It's like killing weeds by pulling them out. It's hard as hell, takes forever, and is useless because you can never destroy the root of the problem.

What if I don't have a cool online nickname/handle?

I pity anyone who actually gets accepted

If no one tries, nothing will change.

There's nothing interesting about these threads. Well they were once before they started consisting of spam of the same set of messages each day.

>> No.9699909

Nothing needs to change.

The people who need to try are moot and the mods. Hopefully the new wave of janitors will become mods in a couple of years, if they can handle all that time of being utterly useless. Being a janitor is like pissing in the ocean.

>> No.9699914

>>9699909
But it does. No matter how much you hate changes, it must happen.

I don't want to sound cynical here, but I really care a lot less about what happens when I'm not browsing the board. As long as it's clean when I am browsing, it's fine. And there's certainly no better way to make sure it's always clean when I'm browsing than becoming a janitor myself.

>> No.9699938

>>9699932
But then you aren't really browsing, you're wasting half your time dealing with reports and shitposters reposting threads two seconds after you kill them.

>> No.9699939

What sane person would actually spend their free time babysitting a bunch of annoying 12 year olds for free?

>> No.9699942

Sometimes it feels better to just delete a shit thread yourself than just waiting for the mod/janitors, which may take more than a few hours.

>> No.9699948

It'd be nice if we could get a janitor who would clean threads that spiral into stupid meta discussion, but that's probably asking too much.

>> No.9699995

>>9699948
but meta discussion is the only interesting thing here, we luckly get something new to discusss once every week.
