Yeah, but it abrupts briefly and you don't get an hscene if you avoid the NTR, not to mention the epilogue is the same as the NTR route. The NTR route is obviously canon.

Donkan as fuck Emiya Shirou rolls to an art school where his 3 female childhood friends are also part of. They obviously end up in the same class, but they act rather cold around him for some reason.

Then sort of a culture festival is announced where every class (color coded teams) is tasked with producing a piece of art. Sort of a competition. The main character decides that this is a good trigger to accomplish something together and regain their lost friendship and warmth.

There is obviously more to it than that, and the main story really kickstarts at the end of Chapter 1, which acts more as a prologue. Would be a huge spoiler to speak any more.

Moogy would have you believe it's the second coming of Christ in terms of reading difficulty, but it's actually pretty simple apart from few points when it shifts to NVL mode (for some dream scenes). If you can read Grisaia level stuff, you should also be able to handle this too.

I myself have only completed 2 chapters out of 4, but so far it's been really really good. If it keeps being this interesting it might even end up being my favourite eroge.

Well I’ll be reading it in the Chinese translation (much better versed in it), screenshots I saw had pretty simple language. I figured if the original Japanese wasn’t too hard then I wouldn’t have too much difficulty with the translation in other scenes.

The only PC-98 one I've played is Watashi, which I thought was fairly decent. It has plenty of choices and good art. It has a female protagonist, though, so if you want a male one check somewhere else.

Yeah I speedread the first route of Sakura Sakashimashita, Miyako.
The whole thing is just a poor man version of Asuseka (and I say that as someone who is far from being its biggest fan)
And while Miyako's route was written by Hiruou the result wasn't too different compared to the common part, the story developments themselves were poorly thought out and the route itself had no real climax and no interesting scenes.
Yeah it's a pass for me, dropping it

Ourai no N'gah-Kthun cast, from the trailer, also includes Amy from Little Women, Keziah Mason from Dreams in the Witch-House, and Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers.

Even with Kome it looks like it's shaping up to be the same good old Steampunk Series. I'm still not too keen on the change, but I like his art so I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough.

I'm looking for a game in the same atmosphere as Remember 11. The part in SPHIA with the shadow and stuff was really thrilling. The game was awesome and i feel playing somthing similar.

So I was tired of waiting for the English translation of Real Imouto ga iru, which will most likely never happen anyway, and started playing it in Japanese. Turns out my Japanese is by now good enough to read it without problems. That makes me happy. First route is Miki, a bit disappointing. I hoped I could make her my bitch, turns out she's making me her bitch. Vexing. Still, her brother makes the route moderatly entertaining.

I hope I can do Mai's route after Shiori. I'd like to save the best until last.

Finished Asairo.
Damn, I'm stupid. I took a few day break after chapter 2 because I was expecting the last two chapters to be at least as long and didn't want to overwork my brain. Turned out 3 was quite short and chapter 4 just a few minute epilogue.

Well, there's not much more to say apart from what I already did in >>9634629
The relationship between Hiyo, Sasamaru and Waka was pretty much already established during chapter 2, even though I mistook her as their direct child. More than bringing up anything new, chapter 3 and 4 acted pretty much as a happy conclusion for chapter 2's ending.

I liked the final ending, but it might have had more impact if I read it straight after chapter 2.

And regardless, over half the CG is ero, it features rape, group sex, etc. If you don't want to call it a nukige, then cool, but it's still not a moege, or charage, or anything like what I was looking for. On getchu they write that you defeat the heroines and have sex with them. That's pretty much the opposite of what I was saying I wanted. I appreciate that you were trying to help me.

If you want the first press releases (i.e. CD-ROM ML with some card and DVD MLA which comes with a concert DVD, both in plastic slip covers) your best bet is probably Mandarake, followed by Rakuten and YAJ.
The Windows 7 Releases basically splice the 18+ originals with new CGs and stuff from the all ages standard editions and 360 version, and are ported to the latest version of rUGP.

That's a pretty tall order, I don't really think something like that exists.

Level Justice is actually the most lighthearted mahou shoujo game I've played.
He does rape the heroines but it's lighthearted rape while the group sex bits are random NPCs and aren't done by the protagonist.
The heroines doesn't get fucked by any other guy besides the protagonist.
It's pretty funny too, it's a bakage.

Meanwhile the rest of the games in the genre are hardcore rapefest full of gangbangs and other stuff.

Not to be an ass, but that's how I usually find things that I can't find seeded torrents for, since I can't into Share/PD on my university network. Trying to pin it down to a single site is just limiting yourself. Also, try searching for both the Japanese title and in romaji.

Between Google and torrents, I've never yet failed to find what I'm looking for (even if what I find in the end is a torrent with one seed that takes me two weeks to download, at least I get it eventually).

I'm at the intermission in Swan Song (right after Tsukasa kills that murderer who was about to rape Sasaki. I've enjoyed the game so far, mostly because the writer is such a beast (picture related, casual scene, awesome dialogue), but how excited should I be for the second half?

Well, the change of Genocider's modus operandi was a big tip off, and the swapped posters and carpets were pretty big clues about the main twist of the case. Also, during the chapter itself there were several scenes with Chihiro looking depressed over "her" weakness and Oowada going "There's nothing wrong with women being weak." Their interaction seemed kind of sudden and odd to me, so I guessed right there that something is going to happen between them.

As for the characters, I just didn't care for any of them, except for maybe Togami, whose attitude and background I found rather interesting. A couple of them were fairly entertaining (Genocider Shou, Celes, Hagakure, the "Ishida" fusion), but most members of the cast seemed little more than one-dimensional caricatures. Entertaining, but flat.
Like I said in my initial post, in the context of the game it usually works fine, but making a convincing drama with them is pretty hard.

Just going along in Tenshin Ranman with one route finished; not as fine as their latest Dracu-riot but I suppose it's more related to the plot setting allowing different stories to play out, not to mention it's a fair bit older. Does the job of gap-filler OK as I wait for Naka no Hito nado Inai and Tokyo Babel.

I finished Sweet Pool a few days back. To the anon in the last thread who said it was soul crushing, I wholeheartedly agree. Goddammit, every time I hear 'Miracles May' or 'calm02' tears well up. It was unexpectedly moving, and Fuchii Kabura's writing has improved in spades since Togainu no Chi. She was able to write a very convincing relationship without resorting to the usual shit that plagues the genre. It was reminiscent of Fuminori and Saya's relationship actually, which isn't surprising since Urobuchi was Sweet Pool's advisor.

Fuchii wrote what she wanted to write and didn't care about appealing to the readers. It's kind of frustrating that so many people are turned off of it due to shitting out meat monsters, but it can't be helped, I guess. I'd no problems with it, save for everything involving Kunihito and the meat lord towards the end, and those notes that Kitani came across about the female/male. I can't even.

Finally started playing Asairo.
Right now as for the reason they’re being so distant to him I can only think that there is something he did to them but forgot due to some sort of amnesia. Well, Hiyo wasn’t distant when she met him again but froze when the other two arrived, and got put in place by Harutsuge. I suppose they agreed to treat him coldly and she let herself go.

Wonder how that will turn around.

Homeless poorfag kaichou was the best route, the side heroines in general were much more enjoyable than the main heroines which is kind of problematic because they only unlock after finishing the main story. The main theme of how to make an eternal life worth living was interesting enough but they really should have explored the science fiction stuff to a greater degree, would have given this game more substance.

I've been playing Higurashi Matsuri with Mainichi ga M on the side.
K-1 is a lot more annoying when he's voiced. He gets riled up so easily and his laugh is really grating.
I'm blasting through Mainichi ga M (in a figurative and literal sense) because it just works so well. I'm developing fetishes I never even thought were possible. I love it so much I think I might even play through all the routes.

Also I thought that Boku to, Bokura no Natsu did relationships pretty realistically and Gunjou no Sora wo Koete is a very realistic war drama (both are by the same writer)

I really hesitated to include Muramasa and Ruitomo on this list because, in the first case the characters are an incarnation of their ideologies, beautifully deep and explored, but also for the large part one sided as they lived and preached the cast they were fit in. Ruitomo just didn't feel "real" enough, even though it had plentiful exploration of all it's human themes. Both of those are two are among my favorite games, don't get me wrong I've intended to play Asairo after I finish For Elise, and I'll place an order for Umi kara and Gunjou no Sora, and if I like the latter play the game that came before it. Fuck, 'Forever' is a sad one too. Especially with how it played all throughout The Red Road. Exactly. Same goes for all of Sweet Pool, really. It never felt like there was anything superfluous added to pad out the plot. Everything was just enough and it was all the better for it.

I'm still wondering about what that final CG meant. Since, like his father, Youji sacrificed himself to save Tetsuo, he's clearly dead. Even on the very slim chance he happened to be alive there's no way he'd look the same as he did five years ago, still in that uniform. I'm guessing it was just an afterimage, spurred on by Tetsuo finally remembering him, with the 'eyes that don't initially trust anyone'. Heartbreaking stuff to be sure.

I think it's a representation of what Tetsuo has lost and won't ever regain in full. He remembers bits and pieces, and even visits that particular train station, but he doesn't remember who exactly are those feelings associated with or what that someone meant to him. I liked Root Double more than the other Infinity stuffs myself.
But I'm not a big fan of that series in general.
Root Double has a good build-up and the plot/characters are pretty great.
Anyways it's definitely worth reading, one of the best title of the year so far though mileage may vary, I can already predict that some people will have a problem with the last part though

And for Zero Infinity, having read the trial, it seems to be a pretty well made chuuni game.
The writing is solid and the characters are promising, the protagonist in particular has a pretty strong and interesting personality.

Finished Muramasa.

The epilogue is amazing, and has near perfect writing at the climax. Didn't really get emotional but the way that the main theme of the story is resolved over the three endings is just spot on. Narahara really picked his words well for the confrontation between Sorimachi and Kageaki.

My only real complaint is that there's not an ending where Kageaki and Muramasa just run off like they planned. Sure it goes against the theme but it just feels wrong for such a cute couple to not have their happy end.

I had a fair few problems with OwaSekai myself, such as how all that awful B-movie level scenario writing was resolved with Chigasaki basically saying 'it's a virtual reality, we ain't gotta explain shit'. I just got to the conversation between Yuka and Tsukasa that started about ghosts and ended in optimistic hopelessness. That whole conversation was pure gold. Looking very forward to grinding the rest of this game tomorrow, my mind is continuously being blown by the short power speeches every character has, even Takuma, my least favorite character has really shown some high points with his seething hatred for Daichi no Kai.

Flyable Heart is one that fits your criteria and is translated, but I hear the TL quality is quite shitty.

Tried the trial of Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai
It was actually a lot better compared to what I expected, and I say that as someone who thought Fortune Arterial was bland as hell most of the time
The writing/banter was pretty similar with Eustia, except in more normal setting

I guess this type may sometimes require more work on the developer side though, since they play out like completely different stories rather than "We swapped in a few new lines to what we already wrote." I didn't like rewrite much, couldn't really give a shit about most of the heroine routes, Akane being the exception, didn't enjoy about half of moon and I lost interest during Terra, which I felt dragged on some parts and just rushed others a lot. I felt the ending was underwhelming too.

Why does everyone seem to say this instead of just that they don't LIKE them as much as deeper games? Even if you enjoy moege, it's less likely that a game like that will be your favorite game ever, since it's just less likely to make a big impact on you. Translating a 2+ megabyte game isn't something you do only for a bit of epeen. There's manga scanlations and fansubs for that.

Not really. For whatever reason, Little Busters EX and Little Busters are treated as separate products in the poll. Which makes it look like Clannad is way above everything else, but in reality the difference between it and LB isn't that big.

EGS isn't really much of a metric for anything. You might as well use sights like MAL or VNDB as metrics for how well something is appreciated. And I disagree with the notion that Air has such monstrous sales. The only thing I've found in regards to that, is that when you combine all formats, they've *shipped* a total of 300k.
