This is my first Touhou, and I play with a controller.

Am I awful? I really enjoy the game.

If you enjoy the game who cares what some autistic floorshitter like myself thinks, faggot.

>I play with a controller.
I do too. Feels awkward using a keyboard for it.

I guess that most people play with keyboard, I wanted to see how /jp/ plays.

Keyboard. Unless I'm on my laptop which has a shitty keyboard matrix, in which case I have one hand on the keyboard and another on a macro pad.

Please don't ask or care about /jp/'s opinion, for it has no merit whatsoever. People kinda hate that game here, but it's the exact same as every other Touhou game, so I guess they just do it because of the "new = bad" attitude.

I really liked the art in Ten Desires

The art is probably the best thing about Touhou, most of the bullet patterns look breathtaking. That, or the music. I don't really care about the characters/story.

faggot

I tried playing with one but it felt too awkward so I went back to a keyboard. And TD is shit.

Dpad feels nice.
Why is TD shit? Just curious.

>> No.9649383

play UFO instead

I never tried with a gamepad even though I got one for MB. Keyboard WASD is natural to me.

There is next to no challenge.

Scoring and survival both are piss easy and mind numbingly boring. The patterns are pretty dull too. Trance made it way too easy, but the panty sniffing to get more trance can kind of put you in a danger zone. I guess that's one good thing about the game.

It's the easiest game so far, but I guess that's alright for a beginner. If you haven't played a lot of bullet hells before, you'll still be challenged on normal and up.
Be happy and smack witches.
Personally, I like SA best, both for gameplay, characters and music.

>It's the easiest game so far,
Personally I still find IN to be the easiest with PoFV being the second easiest but TD is probably third.

>> No.9649567

I tried a gamepad once, but couldn't really beat even Normal with it (apart from the fighting games ofc). I don't know if it's a question of habit but it just feels unnatural to me.
And I could finish all PC era games on Normal (+ PCB extra) with a keyboard.

Also, I hope you guys don't use continues. Touhous are supposed to be 1cc.

>> No.9649609

>>9649567
There isn't anything wrong with using continues if you're using them to practice later stages for a 1cc later on. But clearing a game with continues, and considering the game beaten? Yeah, that's pretty stupid.

And as a matter of fact, there really is no reason to use continues in MoF to UFO. It's easier to just play one credit, since I believe that rank resets to minimum upon using a credit anyway. Not good practice in the slightest.

>> No.9649635

I use a mechanical keyboard to play Touhous. I think UFO's the best and easiest, but that's because it's the only game I ever bothered to clear. I also played a bit of TD.

>> No.9649658

>>9649609
As far as I know, Touhous past PCB don't have a rank system. If they did, you could use Cheat Engine or Hourglass to work around it for practice.

>> No.9649842

But IN has some of the hardest patterns (mokou last non-spell), it's just "easy" because bombs are forgiving.
