Would you fund an OELVN about Christian missionaries in Japan who are magical girls?

It'd have magic and stuff, and religion wouldn't be a huge part of the plot.

just don't reply

Sounds interesting. Tell us more.

The main character is a boy who goes to Japan, and he meets lots of pretty Japanese girls who aren't Christian. And by interacting with them, sharing bits of wisdom he can help them grow in their faith, even as he grows in his. There'd be a girl who's the daughter of a Shinto priest, she'd be the hardest. But the best ending would have you convert all of them :)

It's like the opposite of every other VN where the object is to do everything to please ONE person.

>> No.9612342

Ugh, give me a break. Magic? Mahou shoujo? And of all things, religion? Your VN would have enough overused devices to fuel Japanese media for a decade.

Oh and also his friends are magical girls and they fight monsters and try to unravel a plot to turn all of Japan into evil slaves.

All the funding will be used to buy alcohol and the VN will never be written.

Save the money and drink the alcohol yourself instead.

Solid premise.

You don't even need the magical girls!

Would have been more interesting if it was about loli magical nuns who spread Christianity with their loli vaginas and faith. They go through sick and depraved gangbangs, bestiality, and other /d/ stuff while being pure and positive little nuns.

This is exactly like every other work of religious entertainment; you take something popular (magical girls) and use it to sell religious propaganda. We're gonna play this and the magical girls are only going to be in a couple scenes.

lol remember when she wrote that Touhou fanfic and said there'd be lots of fighting, and there was only one fight?

I doubt you could pull it off. Seems like it'd either come off half-assed as a joke, or too preachy.

This, though i still wonder who you may be quoting, but most "religious" works are a bit "We took those [insert popular teen thing here] you like so much and added jeebus! The story is about FOLLOWING JEESUS, and there's some teens who, uhhh, DISCOVER JEESUS, JESUS, JESUS, JESUS PLEASE CONVERT OR YOU'LL GO TO HELL"

Maybe it's different for sinners?

seriously

It'd be better without the non-sequitur magical girl shit, at least selling it as a story about missionaries in Japan would be honest.

As opposed to Jesus himself?

OP, why not set this in the middle ages or something, and make the MC some kind of Crusade-tier fanatic? It could be entertaining!

>> No.9612473

>>9612444
I'd love to write a story about the middle ages and a monastical religious order, to which the main characters abide, it would focus on the character's relationship with god and faith, while showing the various ways in which a person can perceive his relationship with a deity.
But then i wouldn't do a VN wouldn't i? Now that i think about it, why do a lot of people start jumping on the VN craze lately? I mean, it's a low brow medium, rarely does it manage to give out a positive result, and if it does, that's because a lot of money was spent on finding atmospheric locations for the Backgrounds, funding and finding good voice actors, composing fitting music, drawing characters, drawing CGs etc. etc. etc.
Things that the average guy, moreso a /jp/sie, wouldn't be able to afford and manage properly, that's why KS is so shitty, it was an attempt at a western version of the japanese VN harem romcom, but without a budget, and most of the members being volunteers instead of paid worers like actual well done VNs have, it's almost a proof as to why volunteer based works<money based ones.

> it's almost a proof as to why volunteer based works<money based ones.

Well no shit; who was arguing that?
People work harder with actual incentive.
A heavily story based game made by volunteers, even if it finishes, won't be able to hold a candle to an actual professional work where there are higher standards.
That's just the way things are.
Ever notice how the indie games that make it big nowadays are really light on story?
