I've lived like a hikky for a long time. When I was younger I would go to school then immediately come home and be on the internet. When I was out of school, I have had huge streaks of indoor time.

But now I am moving away from that lifestyle. In the long term I will be broken and destitute. I must use my dads generosity to start to be self sufficient. I am working into getting into University and I even joined the community orchestra.

But I cannot fucking do work. My hedonistic lifestyle makes working through unpleasant knowledge/skill gaps really rough. Say if I have to learn something and I don't get it the first time, I just get all the energy sucked out of me and I get really fucking mad and I can't do anything anymore.

I think i'm just gonna move all of my school and music work to my moms house so I am away from my room. I've been in this room for a very hefty amount of my life and I thrink it's fucking with my ability to do shit that isn't the internet.

There is a point of isolation where you get really depressed and everything is shit. I'm an introvert, I have like one group of online friends and that's it and I spend a lot of time inside, but I have things that I do that make me happy and I am inside for the majority of the month.

Being a government slave isn't that bad; you end up getting paid well, get special perks, job stability, a constant schedule, and depending where you go maybe even a pension (here = 20yrs time gives you a lifetime pension at 50% of the salary of your last 3yrs, so you can enter at 21 and retire at 41). And you don't have to join the police. Can always be a mechanic, clerk, EMT/Paramedic, sanitation worker, etc.

so, right now i'm a literal streetNEET, living in my car and doing shit-all throughout the day. between a power inverter, my laptop, my PSP and a suitcase full of books, i manage to entertain myself and subsist on only about $150 a month. i've got about $1200 in the bank, and even though i don't have a job, i make a little over $100 each month from cashgaming online, so i should be able to keep doing what i'm doing for at least a year or two.

i don't know if anyone here has been in a similar situation, but i thought i'd ask how practical it is to try using a portable range or an electric wok in my car with the inverter. i'm eating pretty thriftily right now (i mostly just buy on-sale fruit, and there's a store nearby that sells roasted soybeans in bulk for only $1.30 a pound), but being able to cook dirt-cheap carbs like potatoes, rice and ramen sounds appealing.
