I even sat there and showed you it's awful and sometimes even psychic 10 frames early shieldable on netplay instead of popping 22B. I guess you're just doing it to so pro netplay tacteecs troll.

I use netplay as a supplement for practice. I'm not interested in netplay tacteecs and don't want to develop awful habits learning to play a new character against it.

I also play offline quite regularly and to be honest netplay doesn't change much, as long as it's delay 3 or less. You just have to play safer and refrain from doing dumb shit like "LOL I SHIELD EVERYTHING IT'S LIKE I'M IN 3RD STRIKE AGAIN". If some guy is predictable during his press, just jump out. >I also play offline quite regularly and to be honest netplay doesn't change much, as long as it's delay 3 or less.
This is probably true in your case.
Meanwhile, in reality, a few frames is enough to make things in this game unblockable. You don't see anyone and everyone exclusively playing f-aoko online though because usually people aren't that homo and will just play the damn game.
This game has 4th/5th frame mixups. 3 frames of delay(1 delay on netplay or something) means you're required to block high/low up to 75% earlier. Imagine how much the window for 2Aing a command grab is reduced.

Shielding bad easily recognizable shit on reaction is 0 risk. Pretty much why h-vsion isn't super popular anymore.

So much bullshit.

>This game has 4th/5th frame mixups.
You can't react to "5 frames mixups" wether it's offline or online. That would mean you can recognize a 2A before it becomes active (most 2A have 4 frames startup).
1 frame is 1/60th of a second, so you'd have to react in less than 0.08 seconds to block a "5 frame mixup", which is absolutely impossible. Typical human reaction time is between 0.15 and 0.30 seconds.

You have to guess/predict in those kinds of situations, which isn't affected by netplay. If your opponent mixes command throw / 2A on your wakeup, you're not gonna "react" to it. The fact that you believe that shows you don't understand the game at all.

There aren't any random elements in Soku. If you think the weather system is random then you're gravely mistaken (I'm not even going to bother explaining why). You fare a lot better in the air now but you're still poking too much with 2B (in neutral and defense) which gets you punished a lot. Stick with 2A if you feel I'm gonna throw you.

gg! Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse you pick up Arcuid.

I wanted to complain a lot, but then I actually played much better than last time (at least I think so).

I get hit way too often when I try to go for you in the air, even with jAs. Probably me being to slow with my buttons, no clue.
That 2B is a curse. I press it when I see the smallest opening and use it instead of other, more damaging combos. A habit that needs to go.
Let's see how it works out the next time.

A few tips since I noticed you never use them :
- After a 236C 2[C] 623A 236A oki setup, don't just stand next to me or I'll 214D. Use the 236A blockstun for a jump-in mixup instead.
- 214A as reversal is safe if you cancel it by j236C (on block). If you have fast reactions you can cancel it into j214C if you see it hit.
- 214B is good in blockstrings to fish for counterhits, and you can cancel it into j214A to make it somewhat safe.
- Using j214C in combos is usually a waste of meter. If you want to spend it in combos you should rather do 236C.

A few tips since I noticed you never use them :
- After a 236C 2[C] 623A 236[A] corner oki setup, don't just stand next to me or I'll 214D. Use the 236A blockstun for a jump-in mixup instead. Midscreen you can do a dash 2A mixup (left/right).
- 214A as reversal is safe if you cancel it with j236C (on block). If you have fast reactions you can cancel it into j214C if you see it hit. I can still bait it by backdashing / dodging (which makes you unable to cancel it) but if I do that when you're just blocking you can escape or even punish me.
- 214B is good in blockstrings to fish for counterhits / jump startups. And you can cancel it into j214A to make it usually safe. If you see the 214B hit, input 5C fast as soon as you land after the j214A to relaunch into aircombo or 236C.
- Using j214C in combos is usually a waste of meter. If you want to spend it in combos you should rather use 236C.

>the game itself seems to reward DP mashing.
This is absolutely wrong.

DPs in this game are more punishable than most I've played. If you get baited and DP, you are eating a combo that will take over half your life against most characters.

As someone who plays both Melty and P4A, I like P4A a bit more, not to mention it still has a tournament presence and isn't pretty much dead like Melty.

Melty pulled exactly half of its EVO 2010 turnout (146) at Final Round earlier this year (73 entrants). Comparatively, SF4 reportedly had over 2,000 at EVO 2010 and only 460 at FR. It's going to be at Summer Jam this weekend. If it's “dead” now I don't see any point where it was alive, although the future isn't good since people seem to be listening to the grumblings of long time players that got frustrated for one reason or another

>> No.9624132

Getting half the turnout a few months after the release of a brand new revision of the game isnt exactly impressive

Most of the fans arent sure what they want to do with the game because of UNiB which will never get localized anyway

I really cant see SJ getting that big of a turnout for Melty, and most of the entrants will just be old melty players that came for P4A but enter melty for fun

It might not be completely dead, but its on life support

AE 2012 vs CC 1.07? You could argue one was more significant because it was the first PC release but it's not like the idea is that different. I don't see UNIB being an issue, people just want to jump on an esports bandwagon (like P4A) with standard commercial level exposure. I suppose that's just one of those things about Japanese players. Americans drop old games like a bad habit but Japs continue to play them for years.

make sure you learn good blockstrings that allow you to continue pressure, also staggers for mashers like me (if you want to test out how your blockstring will do against mashing, go into training and set the dummy to crouch and "recover A" so that they'll hit A whenever they exit block/hitstun)

there were also a couple times i noticed where i had you in a fatal combo and you were in MAX, but you didn't circuit spark. make sure you keep an eye on your meter for moments like that.

Most people just use the default melty blood port, there is no reason to change it.

It also doesn't change anything if you don't use it because only the host has to forward the port, but regardless.

If a thread has fallen pretty far in pages and could use a bump to page 1, a related post that doesn't sage is fine. Basically if a thread is on page 1 there is no reason to keep bumping it
