Do you have plans to improve your life at all /jp/? Like improving yourself, your appearance, your physique, your intelligence, curing your autism, having friends, getting a job, going outside more and interacting with people.

Had you even thought of trying? Have you given up?

What things do you want to accomplish? What do you want to be and what do you think you'll be 5 years from now?

Does /jp/ not fulfill that role? Friends are not easy to find, especially the kind that you have described.

>>9590432
>there's situations where looks won't matter at all
I was not referring to only physical appearance, but "appearances" as the whole of human socialization. Verbal communication can only happen via proxy through a constructed image. The biggest problem I have with this is how transparent it is most of the time, it makes the conversations seem even more meaningless than they already are.

An intimate friend is a rare treasure, and even then, there's the risk of drifting apart.

>> No.9590467

>>9590418
The thing is, I've never understood the enjoyment of being friends in real life if they're not somewhat cute. Wouldn't it be far easier to get along with them if they were behind a nice 2D avatar, communicating via text online? We wouldn't even have to leave our houses.

With a cute friend/romantic partner I guess you can do things like hug and hold hands (in private), take purikura together and do other cute things like go to cafes and restaurants together. But I wouldn't want to do those things with someone who looked like OP pic.

>> No.9590516

15 years doesn't mean shit if you spend less time with him. And what's this shit about censoring yourself around him? If he was truly your best friend, you wouldn't have to hide any part of yourself.

>it doesn't require me to go outside thus

Basically you're a lazybum fag who's safely sitting in his comfort zone. Yeah, you're content with that because that is comfortable to you. But bro, you need to step up your game and continue to make progress to elevate and enhance your experience. The choice is up to you. I spent a long time without the internet and once I was disconnected to it, I felt like crambling and didn't know what else to do since I basically lived my whole life in the web until that point.

Basically, we've become far dependent on /jp/ that we think it's only the social interaction we need. Also you can only say this because you've never made physical friends as your hobby doesn't require you to go out.

Again, the decision is yours.

>>9590466

How about we set on a quest in finding that particular friend? It's easy to say but very hard to do, nonetheless it'll be sure as rewarding when you've been able to find that person. I lost a couple of those intimate ones by inexplicable matters. It sucks hard and you find yourself at square one again. Getting discouraged to ever try making a friendship like that at all.

This is the main reason why I've stopped trying. With my social skills, it's already hard enough finding a friend like that, and I don't know if I'll be able to take losing another when everything's said and done. Sure it might be rewarding, but is it worth the pain and effort? Perhaps Sisyphus would be happier if he could just let that boulder sit where it is.

That makes the assumption that socialization is necessary for any of that. If your life lacks fun, enjoyment, happiness, or "completeness" then the problem is more deeply rooted than a need of people. People who need to define themselves through others are perhaps the emptiest of all.

Yeah, of course it would be worth the pain and effort, especially when you make one that will accompany you to the end. Sometimes we just get tired of trying and finding, so taking a long break won't hurt. Let the time heal you and who knows, you might not have to find one at all as he will be the one who's gonna find you. Take a break and wait, and when you've rested enough continue on your quest.

I personally think it would be a more fulfilling life if I were to have intimate friends to live my life with rather than staying content as a loner till I die. We only have a lifetime after all, to be happy, so better use it before you hit the grave.

Again, it's very easy to say but very hard to do. Sometimes you just have to let your emotions gtfo and just do what needs to be done. Once you've taken control of it, you'll find it easier to live your life the way you want it to.

I was a true NEET (not a hikki) for about 2 years in my early 20s because I had become disillusioned with society and the daily grind of work. My family eventually nagged/threatened me to integrate back into society at a minimum level so I got a job to have some money and at least look partially productive. I eventually joined the military because I felt like I was just spinning my wheels and the money wasn't worth the hassle, so I figured that I might as well go off the "deep end" as it were in terms of a lifestyle change.

That was over 10 years ago and I'd say I'm happier now but it took something drastic like that for me to change. People who talk about taking these baby steps to slowly inch their way back into society usually give up at the first sign of trouble. If you want to change your life significantly then you need to make some real life changing choices.

I have never been a truNEET or a hikki, but everyday I feel like becoming one. During my late teenages and my early 20s I really TRIED to be a normal person, I finished schoool, I lost 30kg and got fit, went to college, made friends and almost got a girlfriend, I got my deegre, got out of my parents house, and I got a job that lets me pay my own aparment. I am what modern society pushed me to be and I totally believed it ougth to be that way. But you know what??, I am not happy, I hate people, I hate society, I hate the system, I am fucking schizoid and I hate socializing, it even hurts. I work as a graphic designer and attending hundreds of people everyday in a photo-store and I feel like fucking punching someone if I hear another stupid question from another stupid client. I don`t want to keep this facade of the nice friendly guy for all my life and keep living like society tells me to do.

I want to take everything I have and go live in an isolated place in the middle of Los Andes and forget about every person I know, I can`t even stand talking to my family or ¨friends¨ anymore.

So yeah I don`t want to improve or acomplish anything , there is nothing satisfactory about that anymore.

I don't think the neet 3dpd shit would be so bad if people could realize that being a bum and escapism are not concepts which are totally original to this message board.

All it takes is a few independent sources before you sound like you know what the fuck you're on about.

Socializing is a subtle game with various levels.

The reason we are here anonymously and not in real life is to avoid skin-on-skin, more personal type of socializing.

Intimate roleplaying like this is an insult to the board and displays your lack of subtlety and lack of awareness. Take this pretend-glomping shit somewhere where it is more appreciated.

This is, in fact, wrong. I've lived many times before and will live many times in the future. I don't know how or why but I'm currently in a time loop. I don't know the exact conditions or how to escape, all I know is that at some point in the future I will return to some point in the past. How do I know? I just do.

I'm not such a self-centered person to believe that I'm a "chosen one" and am the only one experiencing the loop. I imagine many others are conscious of it or at some point will become conscious of it.

So if you're worried about death, don't be. You only live as many times as it takes for one of us to figure out how to end this loop.

As arrogant as this may sound, I do believe I was born with a fair bit of potential. Sometimes I lament the fact that I've squandered so much time, but the sentiment passes quickly. Do you know why?

That's because there is no long term purpose in doing so. Let's say I did devote myself to becoming a superior person. At the end of the road, what have I really achieved? Sure, I might be able to look in the mirror and think I look mighty fine, or take comfort in the fact that I know more computer science than my friend Bill--but these sorts of shallow feelings fade away in time. Ask yourself; with your newly gained skills, what manner of substance can and will you attain?

For many people, the reason behind their "bettering themselves" appears to be a desire to find sexual partners. But for those of us who are not interested in such things, what point does any of this serve?

I admit that much of my argument is exaggerated and that there are indeed solid benefits to certain things the OP listed (e.g. improving intelligence can lead to higher quality of life and a heightened physique can help you survive longer). But the bottom line is this: overall, the benefit:effort ratio is simply way too imbalanced.

Well, I'm nowhere near overweight. I'm socially acceptable but run on the lonely side because I'm starting college soon and friends are moving out. I'm always well shaven because I don't really agree with the gender I was born as. I go out of my way to have impressive fashion. I'm in my top pick school, so I'm clearly not unintelligent.

Really, I need to get out and interact more. Having a job has been good for that to an extent, but I'm sure college will be fantastic.

I'm really doing okay, actually. Thanks for the self esteem boost Anon-san.
