You're better off just leaving them as mp3s on your external drive. They can never be higher quality than those mp3s you already have (unless you redownload them all in .flac) so there's no need to transcode anything.

You have a lossy startpoint and a lossy endpoint, so the lossless step in the middle is entirely pointless. The quality loss will be the same in either scenario. Any reason you can't just leave them as .mp3 files?

You would save some space, but the quality loss would be gigantic. It would only be useful to do so if you had converted it from lossless (say, FLAC, WAV or a CD) to vorbis. If you do so, I recommend q5 for great quality and decent space, or q4 for good quality and low space requirements.

They don't enforce them because no one cares about AAC. If they were to enforce prohibitions, people would just switch to MP3 or something. If your use of AAC makes it popular, chances are they'll try to sell their patents, and the fact you're using it for free will now be bad for them, so they will try to keep you from doing it. Raw wavs are too big, specially for web distribution. I haven't checked all of them obviously, but at least Umineko and G-Senjou no Maou use vorbis. Fate/Stay Night uses vorbis (pic), Tsukihime uses raw wav probably because it's very very old.

Definitely ゲンソウキョウの謎 for me (gnazo in that mediafire folder) - it's a sequel to 東方遊宴世界 from way back in 2010, except instead of just 10 charas you eventually get like 25 in total. Although instead of Sakuya having the teleport and Meiling being able to move rocks now you just have Meiling as the usual sacrificial boss killer and Sakuya as a filler for damage.

Yeah. At least Remi is useful for the dark stages, with a decent attack that hits all directions. And it's so easy to get lost. . .I recall getting to a dark stage with ice platforms which I think would be Cirno's stage (it was an 8-star stage though, or something like that), but now I have no idea how to get back there. There's the new 5150 album and the UNDEAD CORPORATION album (which is outstanding). DJF 2012 COMPILATION has a few metal tracks on it. Looking for any info on ××な彼女のつくりかた2 2012夏プラグインDISC. They were sold as a prerelease at comiket, along with the CM3D summer disc.

I know that it's one of KISS's less popular games, but I'm sure someone has uploaded it to share or PD. I'd check it myself, but I'm pretty sure that my isp has blocked port 1214 because I can open ports 1213, and 1215, and pretty much any other port, but then I try 1214 and it won't open. Wouldn't be the first time they pulled a stunt like this. I once opened a port for aminecraft server Then got my internet shut off because they thought my machine was infected with a virus and was using that uncommonly used port to send out more viruses.

Those are both for CM3D, but thanks anyways. The image on the kiss site is confusing, making it seem like they're in the same disc. What's more confusing is that the updatefromcd.zip on the XX2 site will run if you mount the CM3D version, but it won't let you patch because the files are for CM3D.

Opinions of stuff people have listened to so far? Mine:

[ALiCE'S EMOTiON] Crimson Tempest - Standard AE, would be much better without vocals but that's never going to happen is it

[A-ONE] TOHO EUROBEAT VOL.6 PHANTASMAGORIA OF FLOWER VIEW - Another good TEB collection, really liked T. Stebbins and AXEL. K's tracks.

[Alstroemeria] THE WORLD DESTINATION - Biggest disappointment so far, whole album is shitty electro-house and brostep which is uncharacteristic of Masayoshima Minoshima.

[Cubegrams] NOT 4 on the FLOOR - The D&B tracks were nice (although they have that distinct doujin D&B production sound) but then brostep track were a bit tiresome

[C.H.S] So Many Materials - Varies from being pretty decent to awful (mainly due to the vocal tracks)

[Curled Coil] full run - Very nice D&B and Trance, I don't recall there being any brostep on it but I might be wrong

I tend to be apprehensive about Doujin stuff with Rave in the title as it generally is wrongly associated with UK/Happy Hardcore or Trance to most people now. However, this album, like the first half of 宴 -BANQUET- Vol.2 (which was called JULIANA's Toho side) has some actual proper Breakbeat Hardcore and Acid House on it.

For example, this is Masayoshi Minoshima's track on it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i19RKHwABHU)) which sampled T99 - Anaesthesia, a well known old school rave track from 1991 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx3LccRvidg).). Not only that but REDALiCE made an Acid House type track on it, and Sumijin's instrumental track on it sounded proper old school as well. Theyy have even re-used a few popular rave samples in that album.

Like I said, I've been wanting doujin producers to producer Breakbeat Hardcore forever as none apart from DJ Shimamura do (he's more or less full UK Hardcore now but occasionally he makes an old school track) so this was a very pleasant surprise.

I'm well aware no one cares, but just sayin'.

Yeah I can agree with you there. And it wasn't even MCing it was literally announcing. To be honest MCing over Acid House and Breakbeat Hardcore almost alwasy ruins it because the pace and style of the music is normally not fast enough to spit rhymes to and stuff, so the MC normally just keeps going "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR" for an hour. It kind of works with Jungle and D&B but even then, it's pushing it. The only MC I really liked was Timecode and he only ever did stuff for the GTA OSTs.

Still, quality stuff. I don't know what the shit this JULIANA's Toho is but I'll be looking for more of it. I don't think Digital Wing has done anything like this in it's earlier releases though.

Finally starting to catch up on stuffs.

CREST is amazing. With each album they're consistently moving towards the top of my favourite circles. Too bad it's only an EP this time, but still.

Liztora is amazing as well, as usual. Nothing much to say here, just what I'd expect from them.

SOUND HOLIC's Kamui is rather weak. They've seen better days. I haven't listened to Energy Breaker yet, but it's a 709sec album, so I'm not expecting much.

CROW'SCLAW is nice, but come on man, don't they know what acoustic entails?

Konekodakkaiya is weak. It's really the usual stuff, but their biggest strength is Mint and Riryka combi. Without that the album's just a dud.

GET IN THE RING is surprisingly good. This is their first album for me, and my prior experience was only that one track in Touhou Sky Arena, and I think I'll end up having to go look for their other stuffs if they're as good as this one.

Ankimo is great, just what I'd expect from them. Vocal albums after a while, whoo! But...

Can't agree. Fatal Zero Action was pretty darn good, unexpectedly so as I expected something far more stale. But it's surprisingly solid with great difficulty and difficulty progression, and lots and lots of varied abilities and enemies. And the style of each character also manages to have quite the unique feel to them with the ability to use points to buy skills and upgrade attributes.
You can play as Kiritsugu akin to a third person shooter, shooting, chucking grenades and placing mines, sniping and keeping tabs on your ammunition, while also having spells such as Square Accel.
Or you can play as Saber that's able to any one skill into another skill which you can do indefinitely until you run out of mana (that you quickly regain), while also having acces to a series of charge attacks.
And Rider having various charge attacks available, chariot, armor frames, and the ability to summon allies from Ionioi Hetairoi or simply use Ionioi Hetairoi itself.

The enemies had nice details to them such weakspots. Heads and mouths of monsters and the like. And the ability to use in game experience to either regain health or upgrade skills also contributed.

If you don't know how you play that game, let me just say that it's essentially Sudoku+MineSweeper+PuzzleQuest, with Touhou SHMUP segments. The combination of these games is really such a simple idea yet so splendid.
The rotating coloured orbs around the board tells you what energies(Red Sun, Green Star, etc) are on each line and how many of them there are, similar to Sudoku.
Then each time you attempt to dig up a square it starts to resemble MineSweeper. You don't get any numbers to guide you, though you do get colours. A green square is always right next to a Green Star, and a red to a Red Sun etc. Then there are yellow/purple/etc squares as well that are next to multiple energies, and then there is the white one that is next to at least 3 energies.
You use these energies to gather points used to activate your Touhou Spellcards pretty much exactly like PuzzleQuest abilities. And then the Spellcard sets of a SHMUP segment where the player that casts the spel shoots some kind of danmaku pattern, and the other player tries to avoid, like Touhou.

And I can't really say that Tasofro's new Satori game would have disappointed either. That thing was still really nice, cute and interesting.
And the other games released so far haven't been bad either. The Plants vs Zombies game isn't worse than Plants vs Zombies. And the Patchouli Kirby game while admittedly being quite bad, was still felt nice and had great potential (they just needed to have better stage and boss designs, they really need to make a sequel next comiket now that they have done all the underlying work.)

Tastes, I liked it, not the best ALR but don't get why peoples complain about the "electro / house brostep", this is what he done during his latest albums too, vocals are nice too, maybe a bit generic at the beginning but nothing that made me want to being deaf.

I don't even get why people are mad at Alstroemeria's new album. I took it as if Masayoshi was basically imitating the new popular electronic music trend, which explains why some tracks sound like Skrillex or Deadmau5, and the title "The World Destination", as in where 'popular/trendy' electronic music is heading towards to. Obv I'm not referring to the rest of the electronic scene like in Europe or J-core, but the dub has spread pretty far.

I think all of his recent albums were pretty decent, especially Abandoned Dancehall. His recent first track sounds better than Skrillex imo but then again it's not that hard to do that.

I'm pretty sure that we can agree Masayoshi is a great artist anyway and he might just be adapting his releases to cater to the new popular trends of music. His one house/trance track on Diverse System's thE3 album was splendid.

It's no where as overwhelming as to creating it in the first place and then marketing it in hopes it will make enough money to pay for some of your living expenses. Go to the various blogs that review doujin albums. Use BING or google and add the word "review" after the group and album name.

A bunch of blogs should pop up although with google it will be less likely as time goes on. That's because google recently announced that it will be penalizing sites in search results if those sites get DRM or DMCA warnings or are pirating sites. That's because the intellectual property owners are forcing google to respect copyrights in the search results. Google needed favorable contract terms from the IP holders due to launching Google Play.

Attacking others has worked in anime fandom even back in the late 1980's and early 1990's when there wasn't much of an internet to connect people together. Isolated people meant profiteers could take advantage by selling fansubs to those people. Because there was so much profit, some of those pirates would threaten me to try to force me out of the "giving out free copies" business. I remember when someone threatened me at a fan convention (since I had Head End access and was pushing time-base corrected video into 2 of the hotel's channels for everyone who had a room to copy the videos! Ahh, those were the good days of spreading quality video right off the svhs master via time base correctors. But the high quality and sheer huge number of anime videos made the pirating for profit sellers very angry.

Releases are faster than before. But just because it is released and downloaded doesn't mean someone uploads it to a DDL for YOU to get. That's because we have no major single uploaders this year on the scale of prior comikets.

The previous years, including last year, we had organized major uploaders such as Hong, yuyucow, and other regular contributing uploaders. The uploaders used tripcode names.

The use of names caused a great deal of deliberate angry mockery of the uploaders. Also, serious people, not trollers, talked about how it was essential to NOT be grateful to people who were getting paid by building up their tripcode name reputations by showing off their uploads.

*sigh* Ungrateful people suck, but it was also a time where there was a lot of contentious republican (gratefulness is for the dogs, community is communism) vs democrat (community support) back then due to the us congress budget deadlock fiasco. The attitude politics had a part to play in the eventual 4chan /jp/ upload thread attitude being republican "community is communism". Thus, the uploaders were mercilessly insulted, attacked, slammed, trolled, etc.

After prolonged multi-week torment, the uploaders quit. To their credit, most didn't delete their upload archives, so there were many hundreds of vetted, juried, tested files available for download.

Quick complaint: It seems that most of the tracks, such as Izanagi Object, Heartfelt Fancy, and Green Santorium, happen to mix around and break off at certain points of the songs. If anyone can help, please reply back.

ENCYCLOPEDIA <妖> monstrous beings from ユウノウミ is such a great album. I think the new サリー is great, much better than their previous ones, but still doesn't top their first one. The monochrome-coat album and monoROSETTA's Lotus Land St. are both great.
