2. If you have slaves or a pet, they'll try to fight while you run. If you can get away while your loli is still alive, she'll recover within the next turn on the map.
3. If all else fails, use a teleport scroll. (A rod may work, or even casting it yourself if you have it, but those have a chance to fail and you only have 1 or 2 turns to act.)

-DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CAST ESCAPE OR RETURN. They take a few turns to actually work once you cast them, and you don't have the time to spare.

Anything that isn't primarily a fighter is shit hard to play. A wizard's first combat spell takes 5 mp, while the max you have is a little over 20. You're practically dead when there's a decent amount of monsters around. Plus when you learn spells, you don't permanently know it but instead have a stock.

I actually quite like it. It feels like it has a lot of elements Fable should have had. There's a list of active adventurers in the world that are always doing crap, for example. One of the main differences that can be off-putting is you gain stats really slow. You'll barely notice a difference between a level 1 and level 3 wizard in terms of MP. This is because while the standard Nethack and similar variants only go to around level 20, this game goes -much- higher than that.

Wearing just about anything on the floor is aids, do some quests and buy epic weapons.

Hunting Quests are generally dangerous and should be avoided until you have decent gear, Escort Quests are the bests especially the ones with fatally ill relatives. the boost you 10k or so at the start, After which you should start hoping you come across a Wish well for a Deed of Ranch.

I discovered a way to cheat the game without using wizard mode. Don't look if you don't want to.

In battle, get within striking distance of something you want to kill. Now, hit Escape and save. Now, open the game again and load the file. Attack the monster. The first turn the game is loaded, nothing moves but you, so you get a free shot. If you hit, save and do it again. If not, close without saving since it'll heal and try again.

Holy shit, trading is a great way to get items. I suck at this game and haven't really done much besides a hunting quest or two, the puppy cave, and the putit infestation, so I've found pretty much nothing that isn't worthless. Funny thing happened, when another adventurer with doomed equipment came to Palmia. Something on him had a feature, that summons random monsters around. This time believer of the fire appeared. When injured, he constantly summons dragons, ents, bunch of lesser fire breathing creatures and... ANOTHER believers of fire!! Yeah, cycle complete.
Town was constantly burning and fighting with monsters until I blew it up with nuclear mine.

If they eat delicious food, they will increase their stats. Just place dish in their inventory or on the ground.
Also they pick up raw ore, and sell it to vendors for ridiculously high price (like 90000 golds for 40 pieces). If they have enough money they will train their potential in the city.
