Heres some food for thought:

Lets say that scrolling down the first page takes about a minute, reading through two or three interesting threads would take one or two minutes each. Then it's back to the first page, refresh and repeat ad libitum.

How is it even possible to waste half an hour, even one or two hours just refreshing and reading the same board, the same content, for so long? I personally do not know how time can go by so fast sometimes while browsing /jp/.

Except that if /jp/ was a drug, it would be cheap cocaine laced with rat poison. That means:
1) only dupes who don't know any better or are new to it would ever buy and inhale this shit
2) there are better and less noxious variants of the same thing out there but since you aren't keen on experimenting or getting even informed, you'll keep looking at them fearfully
3) you didn't settle for this variant because it's good, but only because it was the least expensive

>> No.9510769

I usually just go through all available pages and tab anything I see that looks good. Then when I reach the last thread on the least page I start looking through them. Then after that's done I repeat. Oh how the hours go by.

I dislike the catalog because by scrolling through the pages you can see what is going on in the thread and get a better idea about what is interesting, also because I want to look at 4chan and not the catalog.

No.

I'm sick of this shit. I'm sick of seeing people misuse the word "shitposting". I'm from where that term originated.

Something Awful, motherfucker. You heard of it? It's where all your original content got made. You know, back when we originated it. Before your shitty weeaboo site got put together by pedos and furfags. Back before "Web Two Point Fuck You" came and gave every idiot a voice, before being dumb wasn't just allowed, but fucking endorsed. Our job was to shit on people who acted like morons, to fucking curate the wastes of the web and destroy the worst offenders. That was what we did and we were the BEST at what we did.

To fulfil our duty more efficiently, we crafted semantic fucking weapons. Killing words, definitions honed by context, their cachet carefully maintained by the best posters in the English-speaking world, hell, the best people on the internet. "Shitposting" is one such word. A sanction that could destroy a person's posting career, their very identity. "Shitposting" in its TRUE definition means literally whatever we, the elite, decide we don't like.

>> No.9511921

>>9511917
Then the invasion began. Blogger, Youtube, Tumblr. This torrent of FILTH, unruleable, ungovernable, came in too hard and fast for anyone to possibly manage. That flood of fucking amateurs cratered the value of the written word and turned the internet into a place where people could do whatever, without fear of any consequences what-so-fucking-ever. The internet went from a place for computer scientists and intellectuals to a freak show overnight and broke my fucking heart. For the worst offender of them all, though, I hold a special hatred: fucking 4chan, copied from the worst country on the planet. How the hell are you supposed to shame someone when you don't even know their name?

What this means is that, unless you are a registered SA forum member with full account privileges and a low user number, you DO NOT GET TO USE THAT FUCKING WORD. You are BANNED from that word. It is NOT YOURS. "Shitposting" is dead now. But mark my words, it's coming back. We're not staying down forever, and we've already won certain key victories. A reckoning is coming. Be afraid.

And no one would make a big deal out of that other than the "I'm offended for the sake of being offended pay attention to me" groups. The stereotypical soccer mom doesn't actually hold much sway anymore, disregarding the fact that they wouldn't care about a niche game only sold on the internet in the first place.

yes, they would care about some random game on the net. this is 2012, internet is mainstream, pedophiles are the modern day version for 'witches' in everywhere but japan.

Except for the part where the game existed for years beforehand and still exists in its unaltered state. If anything making the change and bringing up the controversy in the first place puts them at risk more than leaving it alone would. Censoring something always makes it look worse.

the people who could talk about censoring are only doing it on channels like 4chan, and if you know someone who post on 4chan, foreign translated games are the last of your problems.
