It only costs about 200 dollars a month to rent an extremely nice western house in Thailand since the exchange rate is weighed so heavily in our favor.

You could live in luxury for the next 50 years without any money concerns if you saved up only 500k.

When you consider that it's 50 years of living in luxury then that's not much at all though. If you don't want to live like some tropical pimp then you can cut that number even more.

Even so though, think of the kind of money you could make if you continue to live with your parents and you get a job and hoard all of that money or maybe invest some of it.

I mean, 500,000 dollars is what some people are expected to make over the course of half of their entire working life - and you really think anyone can go the required 30-40-something years of working without spending a penny of that?

Besides, you could live well in almost any country if you had that sort of money rotting in a bank account. Why don't we do it? Because you've no concept of reality and how fucking insanely difficult getting that amount of money together is.
