When did you realize your love for 2D girls, /jp/?
Was it one big event, or slowly over time?

I have always thought 3D people looked kind of gross; never found other people attractive, etc.
I always ended up liking characters from cartoons more as a kid, and fantasizing like "Man, it'd be cool to be friends with Harley Quinn or Sailormoon or something."
As I grew older, I thought girls in games and anime were hotter than their 3D counterparts, and it's just been continual since then.

Even when someone points out a "superb" cosplayer that's supposed to be really good-looking, I don't find them attractive. I usually get pretty upset because they look nothing like the character. I guess it's ok if it's just you and some friends or whatever, but I'll never understand cosplay.

Also, 3D girls and people in general are assholes, and I don't want to be around them. I never have to be shy around 2D. I play with them all day.

2D raised my expectations and standards to impossible levels that nobody could ever hope to meet in real life. Sure, I still see the occasional real chick and think "Holy shit she's cute!" then I remember that her personality is most likely shit and I get over it.

Some people probably think that's weird but I would rather have ridiculous standards than constantly whine about how I lonely I am and how I can't get laid like the gentlemen over in /r9k/

I've always had a hard time finding 3d women attractive. I mean with their clothes and on and covered in makeup sure they can look good, but they still seem dirty.

However I remember getting crushes on anime girls back in the 90s, and as I grew older and had to be exposed to more and more 3d women it made my distaste for them go up while my libido demanded my love for 2d balance it out.
