Why dont you believe in fan death /jp/?

Has Korea tought you nothing?

>> No.9461227

Fan death = suicide

>> No.9461267

People in general are stupid, it isn't unique to Korea, believe it or not.
There is a belief among some people in the Phillipines that if you let a drop of water run down the length of your back you will catch a cold.
In many Western countries people associate a common 'cold' (rhinovirus) with cold weather, probably how it got its name. Some even suggest that if you go out in cold weather you will catch a cold, probably due to the phenomenon of a runny nose when coming from the cold outside into a warm building.

Then what leads to catching a cold if it's not a cold weather???

I thought if you went outside in a freezing rain, you would get mild hypothermia, which would weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to common illnesses like the cold.

>> No.9461307

>>9461294

That is probably true, also people tend to be in close quarters in winter.
People exist though who believe going out in the cold will give you a cold in its own right, that was what I was getting at.
It's no less stupid than 'fan death' belief, really.

I have three fans on in my room at all times because my AC sucks.

Come at me Gonorrheans.

>> No.9461322

Since I slept with a fan on for whole summers and nothing happened? But I do point it away from me. Anyway, I thought that was about heating fans, why would I use one of those in the summer.
Plus this is /jp/ not /kr/, why did you open this thread here?

My favorite one is that the fan blades literally slice the oxygen molecules in half making them unbreathable.

I grew up with my mom sleeping with a desk fan on high for the noise, and that ended up transferring to me. Now it's really weird to not sleep with a noise fan.

I sleep with the AC on and a fan pointing at me, never had any problems. I just can't sleep without it being freezer cold. I exercise daily and I've gotten tested for a bunch of different things and nothing has come up so I am sure this is psychological.

I don't have tinnitus, but I just like having the noise when I sleep.

Some of the best sleep I ever got was in the middle of class during high school. That noisy bustle just knocks me straight out. Probably why I sleep all day when everybody is awake and doing their lively things.
