Just captured this card. Not so hard as i thought. Satori's recollection card may be harder.

I'm reluctant to give more specific advice about the stage since you have more general problems, like not being able to dodge bullets. Play more, and I'll give you specific tips if you have specific questions, e.g. "How should I approach the midboss orb? Is it static or random? What are the conditions to make it drop an extend instead of a bomb?".

Yeah, sorry for being a failure. When I started out months ago I thought "If I do this on easier difficulty levels I'll me do shit that won't work on higher ones, right? I should probably start on this Lunatic level!"
I'm doing really well in stages 1-3 though, so I think I can do this with enough autism.

Nue drops an extend if you don't get hit at all in the four waves she fires, right? I think she also waives the 4th wave if you get hit before that. That static or random thing is a good one, though. I heard from Riz it's not static in stage 6, so in the few times I practised stage 4 I assumed it's not static there either. If it's static, I should be able to figure my own way around it.

What exactly does the Vsync patch do?

>> No.9460093

>>9460083

Removes vsync.

EoSD, PCB, and IN have lag issues where the game will buffer three or more frames ahead. This makes the game look very smooth, yes, but it makes it so all of your input has a delay. Every image you see is what's happening at least three frames ago, so all of your actions share that same delay.

Quick hour of practice later I can pretty comfortably make it a bit past Nue midboss without missing or bombing. After that I'm not sure if I should bomb to summon UFOs or... not bomb, to save bombs.

I don't think you need very much advice. The only thing I can tell you is to break your borders and use bombs more. You didn't break a single border and you didn't use a single bomb until Yuyuko's third-to-last spellcard. I think that you could easily clear this on the higher difficulties. Both your dodging and strategy is good; you just need to practice and get used to the game.
I would also recommend you to watch some replays:

Just beat TD on Hard!

http://replays.gensokyo.org/download.php?id=22860

I'm really proud against my fight against Miko. This was my first time ever fighting her on Hard, and I captured all but two of her spell cards! I only died once against her, near the very end on her final spell card. Also, is it just me, or are her nonspells harder than her spell cards? I bombed on a lot of her nonspells when I didn't need to, as I was used to needing to use a bomb on Normal.

This was also my first time ever going beyond the beginning of Stage 4. I'm one of those people who will stop and start over a million times if the beginning doesn't go well enough for my liking, and this was the first one where it felt like everything went right enough for me to continue on.

Anyway, I now have a Hard 1cc of EoSD, PCB, MoF, and TD; only IN, SA, and UFO remain. I'm going to use IN as a breather between playing the latter two, as I'm scared to death of the aforementioned latter two. SA Normal 1cc was a nightmare for me, and common belief is that UFO's Hard is more difficult than SA's Hard. Just trying to imagine SA's Hard mode is a horribly scary thought.

I know I can eventually do it, though. I beat Koishi; I can beat anything!

SA Normal is considered to be tough compared to other games, but its Hard and Lunatic don't scale up like, say, UFO. UFO Hard and Lunatic kick all the other Windows games' asses, while you can still bomb and NoDodge through SA on every difficulty.

I feel like my hands are on fire. I play these games a lot. I want to continue, but I'm not doing very well. I guess part of the reason why I have been playing so much lately is my short pilgrimage from UFO. It's just one of those phenomenons that make the games easier to grind. I want to finish this and get back to UFO, but I keep having EoSF moments. I am sure that I could clear this easily if I take a break and come back fresh, but I don't want to stop playing. I am being somewhat masochistic right now, but I'm enjoying myself. As long as I am dodging bullets, I don't see a problem.

One thing with EoSD is that some of its hitboxes feel SoEW-tier to me, especially on the fairies. I am 100% positive that I will not run into them and I do anyway. It's pretty annoying. Although this is a very minor quirk in UFO, I've had some silly moments with the fairies there as well, but UFO doesn't have fairies chase and ram you like EoSD does. It's a little annoying that I have lost several runs to this. The bubbles are another thing. I don't like very much them in any game. They are some of my least favorite kind of danmaku and EoSD has different hitboxes for them than the newer games, which is something that is hard to get used to. I think UFO executes them well, but I don't like the way they are used in EoSD. It's not as big of a deal if you are just visiting, but it matters a lot more in a LNB run. I probably just need a break.

Find what fits best for you in terms of control. If you do use a D-Pad don't use a cheap one, use a PS3 controller if you have one with DS3 tools. When dodging try not to move more than you have to. The best way to become better at these games is practice.

You can collect items on the PoC without full power, by focusing above the PoC line. You should also stay focused most of the time during boss fights, to deal more damage. You kill fairies that have familiars way faster with the focused shot type as well.
You need practice on Keine. Don't change between unfocused and focused during her nonspells, it only makes the patterns harder. On her first card, destroy the familiars she shoots out with your human form. Use spellcard practice and practice mode to learn the stages.
