I built another computer out of compulsion. Any ideas for what I could do with my old one? It's an entry level rig that's completely fine functionality wise, just a little dated.

You know I'd rather pack it up, pay shipping and send it to a destitute NEET in need of a better computer rather than shit in it. Or just shelf it.

Anyone have better suggestions?

I thought of turning it into a server then I thought "who would it serve? except me of course." Why would I need a server?

I need a new PC. What are the specs?

Get the right cables, hook it up to a TV, have it be a media server?

If you need a new PC and ``dated entry rig'' doesn't already sound appealing enough that you need to ask for specs, it's probably too weak for your needs.

That said, x3 455 cpu, hd 6570, 2x2 4gb, 530W psu, on some 50 dollar gigabyte mobo. I stole its hard drive and put it with my new computer.

Better than what I've currently got.

keep living in your myopic little linear cocoon of illusions and delusions. It will get you nowhere, and in fact will get you going backwards even deeper in your little linear shell of thinking. Enjoy that pathetic and self-imposed ride of your own illusions that don't exist

Sure am glad I didn't make this thread in /g/ so I wouldn't have to see ``install gent- Oh there it is.

>> No.9426732

``Install gentoo'' jokes aside, if you don't mind paying a bit more electricity, make it passive cooled, then turn it into a media server, or torrenting PC.

You can also use it exclusively to run VNs while keeping your other computer clean.

I recommend keeping your old hard drive.
A part of you is in there. Years down the line I miss giving away my first personal computer that I actually did stuff on. It's just nice for nostalgia and looking at the past thing you played and worked with.

Now I back up all my past stuff and it's nice to look at all my old files, games, and first VNs. But maybe it's just me.

No. It broke my heart when my shitty little laptop's hard drive died randomly. I don't miss the laptop, just all my stupid pictures I had saved. So many memories...
