Do you feel like you're dumber now than when you were a teenager?

I do. I can't even read one of my old textbooks now without drifting asleep after a paragraph. It feels pretty terrible.

Noo... That just means you have become old.

I personally miss my fire from my teenage years...

This idea might not be very popular, but I think it might be because your current lifestyle doesn't give you as much energy as the lifestyle you had when you were young.

it's called neuroplasticity, op; and yeah, when you get to be 20, it starts to taper off. I want to get some 2c-d for 5mg/day psycho-stimulative bumps.

I feel smarter than before, but my imagination died. I dug up a bunch of comic books I drew when I was 12 years old, and I was amazed at how funny and great they still are. I could never make something that good again.

I know that feel.

One time, it went away though. For a day I had a strong thirst for knowledge, and the motivation to read. I ended up reading a psychology textbook for no good reason. Learned it all fine, forgot it all a few days later.

In my teens, I remember how every year I could look back at myself the previous year and see that I'm better in every aspects than my previous self. I thought to myself that if I grew at this rate, I had to be an absolutely amazing person when I reached adulthood. But it looks like I stopped growing at some point.

I've never had that.

But now I've started to feel like I'm deteriorating.

I don't have a scanner!

They're not amazing works of art or anything, but still amusing because back then I just drew whatever situation came to mind. If I try to make a story now, I try too hard to plan it out perfectly, and constantly worry, "Is this good enough?"

I just lost my attention span thanks to information overload.

I'm just lazier and less motivated. I guess I should be slower at learning new stuff, but I'm not even trying to learn anything so I don't know. I have equal or greater intellectual capacity than compared to my younger self, but I don't use it for anything.

My reaction time and general brain processing power has slowed. My drive to excel has been washing down the drain. Like my hair.

In recent years I've actually felt like it's gotten better.
Back then I'd never even find the motivation to learn a language completely on my own, or actually do anything at all without being forced to do it.
I was a pretty stupid and lazy kid.

I'm 21 and beginning to bald, as well. At least I have a Slavface, so I might look like Lenin if I sculpt facial hair correctly.

I actually lost much of the "oh fuck, it's black magic, I'll never figure this out" mentality that impeded me in my youth. Plus I have more experience in general, and as a result I can read through my old grade school books and notes and actually understand what's going on.

Pity it took me so long, I could have used that when I was still learning that shit. And unfortunately, I'm also a lot lazier now, and memory gets worse with age, so it's not helping me much, if at all.
