I've decided to finally try out Touhou.
But where should I start? Is there a storyline to it?

Oh yes indeed. Usually one for each game. Sometimes in later games they recognize characters and situations from earlier games. You could check out Touhou wiki or even official manga if you'd like.

And now for my question. I play as recon. Is that good?

Start with one of the main Windows games that isn't EoSD. EoSD is half PC-98 and doesn't really represent the Windows games in general.

Start with Imperishable Night, because it's the easiest and funnest game. Then backtrack and play EoSD and PCB (and IaMP if you like fighting games).

Yeah just do that. And don't bother playing the games on easy as half the time you'll miss out on the endboss and that's not how you get better anyway.

I have it, as it was recommended before, if I remember right, there were only 4 stages I did and I felt out of place because out of nowhere it dropped me into this scenario where two chracters are headed toward a village that's been taken over??
My memories hazy, but I was confused about Touhou and if I was playing the right game, so I dropped the interest for a bit.
I still have the game though.

I don't really play alot of FPS games, they get very boring easily, with the exception of Bioshock and Halo(Because killing the NPCs are so funny.)
Funny thing about Recon though, months before it came out when I went to pick up FFXIII-2, the cashier lady gave me that weird bandana thing you get from pre-ordering.
I didn't care much for it but she said she was going " hook me up"
But she said it was a pretty important item.
So, I guess so??
