Did you ever join any clubs?
I didn't in highschool and my uni doesn't have clubs.

>> No.9405054

We had no occult club. ;_;

>> No.9405057 [DELETED]

>my uni doesn't have clubs.

What the fuck university are you going to?

When I was applying for universities, what struck me as cool is how they all had such a wide range of clubs.

>> No.9405061

I joined the drama club in my last year of school to fight my social anxiety. That applause after the last showing was probably the happiest I ever was in my life.

Start an anime club and then kill yourself out of /jp/

>> No.9405060

Nope, we don't have that kind of thing here, and even if we would, I'm not that kind of person.

When I had to give a speech I was happy at the end but I couldn't take it easy for like the entire month leading to it.

>> No.9405068

Yes, I did. We had the tie club, Take it Easy Club, where we sat around all day and discussed topics that were not vital to our survival.

>> No.9405075

I can't remember if there were clubs for non-sports. Probably not.

Yes it was similar. All the months leading up to it I barely slept and I even skipped a few rehearsals because I was just so nervous I'd mess things up.
Also we had three screenings and I forgot some of my lines in the first one, nothing the audience had noticed, but I couldn't feel good afterwards. The second one was alright but nothing special, but the last one was just great. I gave my best performane and the audience noticed, it's quite a remarkable feeling.

Not that it really matters because I'm not exactly the club joining type.

There weren't any club. It's ok, though, there was MMO.

My uni had an occult club, but the meeting was too much inside a building. If I turned up and didn't like it, I'd be stuck in the room and probably not know how to leave.

Though I imagine it was full of new age women types discussing chakras, rather than cool stuff like ALIEN GOHSTS and ORBS.

When I was in school I would try my best to remain in the background.. so I never joined any clubs or anything.

>> No.9405129

There was a tabletop gaming club in highschool, but everyone was more autistic and awkward than me. College only had a poker club.

>> No.9405146

I joined the anime club at my Uni. Met some really awesome people, who I still keep in contact with. Unfortunately, the year after I joined we had a pair of douchebags who noone (including me) had the guts to kick out. So we left, and now I know how bad anime clubs are born.

I was in the Student Council in Highschool. We didn't do shit though, I'd usually just hang out after school and talk with the teachers.

I was in the History Club,Hacky Sack club, and the computer club called the "Cyber Service".

I tried joining clubs before but then I realized you had to stay after school to participate in them so fuck that.

Then in uni I tried again until I realized that not only do I have to stay at campus longer but this time I have to PAY. Fuck that.

I had to read a report for economics during high school. I told my friend it wasn't a big deal and it was easy, nothing to be nervous about. I kept repeating this to myself and I actually believed it. The moment I got up there in front of class, my legs started shaking and I got really sweaty. I forgot most of what I had to say and it didn't come out as smooth. When I sat back down I was really sweaty.

>>9405128
I did this too. Just waited outside in a little ledge, since most people waited right in front of the school building and it was crowded. Where I sat was pretty empty, and I could listen to music on my psp without anyone bothering me most of the time. That didn't work out so well though, when group of chortling whores approaches for conversation and it gets really awkward.

>> No.9405243

i did not. at lunch i either read or slept on a bench that was out of the way, and clubs only met at lunch.

i considered joining the board game club so i could get better at chess but the only people in it where fat autistic kids who wouldn't shut up.

>> No.9405254

If the school's band counts, I was in that, but it was an actual class.

Otherwise my high school didn't allow clubs in order to prevent "gang violence". I lived in a small town full of religious folks, I don't think that should have been a problem.

The university I might decide to finally grow some balls and sign up for has lots of clubs, but most don't seem interesting.

>> No.9405263

I joined the astronomy club and anime club in high school. I had no idea where we were supposed to meet and was too shy to ask anyone so I didn't go, never went for the rest of the time and it still came up in my records at the end of the year. I was surprised to see it there and was to embarrassed to show up for the next 3 years. Still came up every year though.

>> No.9405289

I was in my High School's Computer club for the first two years. They taught me all about Linux, programming, piracy, Anime and porn, I'm very grateful to them for that. I spent some time as a member of the Anime club but all they watched was generic Shonen and the occasional generic Shoujo, so I quit. University had no clubs.

>> No.9405295

I joined JROTC in my junior year when my magnet school finally got the AF-JROTC program. I stayed in for the whole year, but refused to go back my senior year because none of my friends joined up, so I was stuck with a bunch of lower classmen. There were some cute Vietnamese girls in the program though, but most of them would rather go out with their fellow Asians than whitey. I will say overall JROTC was a fun experience.

I took part in some drama-club like events in middle school, plays and the like. It wasn't technically a club, but as close at makes no difference. It was really, really fun, and I regret I didn't do anything similar in high school.

Well, I guess it was inevitable with the depression and all, but still.

>> No.9405823

I'm going to graduate school in the Fall in Japan.

What clubs should I join?

I think sports clubs like archery and judo might be out of the question given my fitness levels and general lack of motivation to go to practice on a regular basis. I'll probably end up sticking to my comfort zone and join the manga club or something. If there's an outer space or occult investigation club I'll definitely join though.
