Start with pushups if you can't think of anything else to do. Running is great if you can stand to be out of your house. You can also do things like squats, lunges, headstands, handstands and bridges inside with little space. If you have gear/things that can conveniently substitute as gear you can do pullups, dips, jump rope, or add weight to any of the above items (e.g. using a backpack NOTE: not a good idea for cardio like running or jumping rope). Treadmills are a great investment, if you can stand to deal with people you might watch your local Craigslist or maybe you could get one shipped off eBay I don't know. If you want to get big and strong, it would be wise to get weights but it's not like you have to make that decision immediately.

>> No.9389747

But then I wouldn't be NEET, silly OP.

>> No.9389745

Why do people enjoy weight lifting?

I hate it. The sets are short and quick so it never really feels like you got a workout and then you unexpectededly hit your limit out of no where and all of the sudden you're trapped under a bar because your arms have given out and you have to roll the bar off you, take off the weights, and then put it back on the stand.

Cardio is actually enjoyable. You can turn on some music on your ipod and just run for awhile. You get into it and time flies by. There's no immersion with weight lifting, it's just five minutes of pain followed by several minutes of waiting and then more pain.

Nothing requires motivation. Motivation just makes a task easier to do.

That's the problem that a lot of people seem to have. For some reason there's this idea floating around that you need to be motivated to do something. Often motivation comes after you start to regularly do a task and it becomes part of your daily routine.

If you just sit around waiting to feel motivation then you'll never do anything because that's not how it works.

Do a set of five reps which takes maybe a minute. Now your muscles are all weak and they have to recharge so you can do the rest of your sets so you wait a few minutes and then you do it again. Exercise frightens me.

My doctor tells me to take 20mg of adderall two times each day so I can be motivated and happy, but it increases my heart rate and makes me dehydrated since that's what stimulants do.

If I try to exercise during this then my heart starts beating like a drummer with parkinson's and even when I stop I have to spend the next fifteen minutes taking deep breaths just to prevent myself from feeling faint.

I want to exercise, but how can I do it when that happens?

When I feel my pulse do that bump against my finger does that count as one heartbeat or is it every two bumps? I thought that hearts make the two sounds that are kind of like "lub - dub" and those two sounds count as one heart beat. Is it the same for pulse rates or does each bump count as a "lub - dub" ?

I've googled this before and I can never find a straight answer. It must be common knowledge and I just never learned.

It seems kinda important though since my heartrate could either be 85bpm right now or 170.

Like...more than one normally would I think. I imagine /jp/sies would love stretching too. Since it's pretty easy, and /jp/ is full of disgusting lewd faggots that desire extreme flexibility for their lewd interests. Running is great, like full speed running with normal running in between. I can't do treadmills though, every time I get on one I'm nearly passed out by the time I get off. "Lub" is the heart expanding. "Dub" is it contracting, at which point you feel a "pulse". So each pulse is the product of a full beat, or a "lub-dub", and each one counts. If you're at 170 at your computer you should be sweating and out of breath, and should see your doctor. You can get some basic idea of resting and working heart rates from Wikipedia:

Amphetamines have a very similar feeling to what you get from exercising, but if your heart isn't in good shape from regular cardio exercise then it's going to have a hard time with the drugs. A runner's heart-rate is considerably lower than a normal person's heart-rate because his heart is stronger.

Ecstasy, amphetamines, all of the drugs that make you feel full of energy and happiness put some stress on your heart and if you're out of shape then this can be dangerous.
