Besides using a scroll, you can also eat cursed items off of you, but they have to be made of "raw" which will probably require a scroll of ... material degeneration or something like that.

Yea, as someone else mentioned the tutorial tries to fuck you over a lot. You don't have to do it, but there are ways to avoid being screwed by it. The only thing you have to actually do is identify the gold bar. You don't have the eat the beggar's corpse or equip/uncurse the bow, just say you did. Then you'll start the game with 3 extra uncurse scrolls.

Also, during character creation, i believe right after you pick your alias but before you pick your name, you'll be shown a sheet of your character. If you push enter here it will roll your age, height, weight, and starting equipment. You can't actually see the last one, but if you look at the bottom right corner for your attack and defense stats, you can get a good idea of it.

You guys should seriously play the alpha release (version 1.11) rather than the stable (version 1.08); you get a blessed scroll of vanish curse during the introduction rather than three regular scrolls of vanish curse (the blessed one always removes the curse).

Also don't bother identifying the gold bar, don't try to pick the lock on the chest he gives you (you don't have enough skill, you'll just break your picks), and don't eat the beggar's corpse. Okay, so, my little girl is like a demigod. She can kill anything we run into no problem. But apparently I can't walk past a well without killing her. What the fuck.

I assume you've completed the tutorial and such and atleast reached the first town. In the middle of the town there should be a well. Nearby there should be a sign board. This is basically lists all the quests in the town.

Look for either a delivery quest or a escort quest. If you take a delivery quest remember the item you're suppose to deliver is not put into your inventory, it's drop under your feet. DON'T FORGET THE ITEM, PICK IT UP!

Also, for escort quests, avoid the "Escort my girlfriend" and "My dad is sick" quests. The girl is extremely weak, and there a chance the sick guy will die along the way on those. The regular escort quests tend to have people that can at least defend themselves rather well.

Then just use the trusty attached map to find which city you need to goto and you're fine. As the game says, stick near the roads as they're fairly safe. Run a few of these quests for cash, then buy some gear. Don't forget about your pet, if you picked the bear or girl, at least get them a weapon. You'll probably gain some exp from random fights along the way too.

The only real danger you're in at the start is from bandit ambushes, just accept their demands (they usually don't request much) and move on. You can buy more cargo rations easily. They're pretty cheap. Also, watch out for kobolds. They're low level but usually pack quite a punch.

When you feel ready, head out and look for a dungeon to pillage. To progress the main story, you need to head to Lesmias, but if you find another dungeon with a 1 or 2 danger level those are worth exploring too.
