No one loves their jobs more than free time. If they did then it wouldn't be a job since it would be such enjoyable work that people would be paying the employer just to work there. Every job involves a task that is unpleasant to some degree, otherwise they have no reason to pay you for doing it. It's nice to have job that you don't despise, but even the best job isn't as good as free time.

Imagine a hypothetical scenario for a moment. I come up to you and I say that you will have to spend the rest of your life doing horrible labor that you will most likely despise. You will have to do this almost every single day for the rest of your life until you eventually die, but if you want then I'll let you have the next two, three, or maybe even four years off. You can do whatever you want during this time, but then you have to get to work. Would you just say, "No, fuck you. Give me the work right now. Let's start this endless ride of misery!" or would you take those four years?

Work is like death. It comes for all of us at some point, but any sensible person will dodge it like hell for as long as they can.

- I missed an entire year of school.

There are actually some people who enjoy their work, and to them I say "good for you". They enjoy working, so let them work. I prefer to stay inside, so I will stay inside and do what I enjoy. Different people enjoy different things, that's why one there's no one-style-fits-all lifestyle for everyone.

Everyone should be free to pursue their own goals(or lack of goals).

What does this get you that I would want?

This is the thing about money that I've never understood. What exactly do you spend it on after a certain point? You need food, some form of shelter, and for entertainment you need a computer and an internet connection. I honestly can't think of anything else that I would spend money on and you certainly don't need to be rich to have these things.

Think about it. The internet offers limitless possibilities to learn anything that you could ever want to learn about, exploration of the mind through either lucid dream or intense visualization meditation will allow you to explore a perfect world inside of your mind for free, your living space only needs to be big enough for a bathroom, a refrigerator, a computer desk/chair, and a bed, and finally your food only needs to be good enough to keep alive.

After that point you're really just spending money on things that aren't even worth your time. The only difference between you and me is that you have to work and I don't.

Do they really enjoy their work more than free time though? I considered this before I made the post because I have heard of some people who say that they like their work, but wouldn't these same things be more enjoyable if they could do it in their free time?

Imagine a world where money isn't an issue and everyone just does whatever they want. Scientists will still be scientists because that's just what they enjoy, but they will be working on the projects that they want to do rather than the projects that they've been assigned. If every worker was allowed to be a NEET then the people that enjoy their work would still be doing something related to that field, but they would enjoy it even more because it's on their time, they have no deadlines, and they can choose the projects that they want to work on. With an actual job you just don't have these privileges.

Take an artist for example. They love to make art so some sort of art related field seems like it would be a win/win for them, they get money and they get to do what they love. The reality of the situation though is that they're stressed to their breaking point from the horrible hours they have to put in to meet deadlines, they work on things they don't even want to work on because that's what they've been assigned to do, and at the end of the day the work sucks away all of the love they originally had for making art.

As of now; there's no scripts at all with IE9. This is the "only" browser that makes 4chan run properly. Stuff like FF, chrome makes the page take a spasm with loading when I open it.

Retirement is one of the biggest scams in the world.

Think about it for a moment. They're essentially telling you that you have to work your ass off for your entire life on the off chance that you manage to survive to be about 65 years old and even then you might not even be lucky enough to retire.

What do you have at that point? You're old, you're weak, you've got maybe another 10 years in you if you're lucky and you will probably go senile at point during that. Everyone looks forward to retirement, but most people die before it ever happens or they realized that they just threw away around 60 years of their life in exchange for at the most 10 years of free time as an old dying man.

I can honestly say I'm probably the loneliest person on 4chan or at least one of the very few. I'm Hikikomori. Most of the time when I talk about how I have no friends and haven't left my house in 8 years as well as other things including my habits and stuff people just write it off as a troll and start pasting TruNEET stories and googling images of piss bottles. It's like sharpening a blade. You can't sharpen a knife by using a block of butter, you have to use something strong that gives resistance and sharpens the blade. Same is true with opinions, if you can't sharpen your opinion by testing it against people with an opposing belief then it becomes dull.

There's no point in expressing my opinion if someone isn't going to try to argue with me. If they can find a way to tear down my belief then I know that I'm incorrect and I can adjust accordingly, but if all I get is pats on the back and approval then that gives me nothing. Just because you have a job doesn't make you a some pitiable sack of shit that's desperate for approval. I'm sure that one day I will have to get a job, but when you're pushed into a corner and the only options are employment or suicide then you really have no choice.

The people that I take issue with are the ones who work solely for the validation others, the people who base their career choice around which job will give them the most status and pride. The guy that's cleaning the street at 5:00AM is doing it because he needs the money to survive and I'd like to believe that this describes most people who work.

There are exceptions though and these are the people that I pity. For example, I knew a guy who was going through college and he was obsessed with approval from his family and eventually even hypothetical women that they he didn't even know. He was constantly stressed, he never did anything that he enjoyed because all of his time was devoted to his studies that he didn't even like, and at the end of the day whether or not he was happy was completely dependent on if his parents approved of his performance. Later on it became about having status and a job that would attract women and his emotional state was dependent on whether or not women were attracted by this.

There's a clear difference between the man who's working because he has to do it to survive and someone like this. There's nothing wrong with the first, but the second is pathetic.
