Do you take photos /jp/? Have you ever been out on one of your walks and taken photos of the wildlife or the surroundings? I'd love to see any pictures you have taken, maybe we can show each other the beauty of the areas we live.

I don't but I love seeing those pictures too.
I swear I'll go sightseeing someday and backpack through nice places only to come back with loads of pictures to pay the community back.

>> No.9362200

It used to piss me off when people would take pictures and put them in an album called `photography.' They didn't know what they were doing - this certainly shouldn't be shoved under the label of `photography.. Here they were, taking shitty panoramas of some flowers with their new DSLR which they don't know how to use, and that's `art.' `Art' is supposed to convey a message elegantly. A shaky, high-shutter-speed portrait of flowers conveys how shitty of a photographer you are. That's what I thought.

I love to take photos but I haven't taken any outside since summer. I live close to the desert and I really like going out there when the weather is nice. All I've taken pictures of recently are dolls, food, or tea. I've been wanting to take a trip into town by lightrail to take pictures of people, but laziness (and waking up at 3PM) is preventing me.

All the pretty areas nearby in Kyoto (or in any city) are tourist/visitor traps so I feel the pictures I have aren't really suitable for this thread. I want to go on a trip to secluded, unknown areas of Japan, but I don't have a driving license. ;_;

Even places like Shirakawa (Hinamizawa) are tourist spots.

I guess I should take more pictures of my urban surroundings.

The color of the sediment under the water? The water itself? It was a one second exposure so the surface of the water looks smoother than it normally would.

I don't go outside often, but on the rare ocassion that I do feel like going for a walk there's a really nice pair of hills that are not a 5 minute walk from where I live. They're the Lomond Hills. The one I like to walk up is West Lomond, which is the one this photo is taken at the base of.
There's this absolutely beautiful view from the top of it, but the wind is always goddamn freezing. Such is life in Scotland. It's still really nice though, it's a place with very few people around most of the time so it's a good place to take in my surroundings and be alone with my thoughts.

I'll admit now though that my photography really is not the best, and this photo doesn't even begin to do justice to the beauty of the place. Next time I go up I'll remember to take photos looking up at it from the base, and looking down from the top. It's just that I haven't made it all the way to the top in ages now, I always give up halfway and go home either because it starts raining or I just collapse from fatigue.
