So why aren't you faggots talking about Rose Guns Days? Do you all hate ryukishi that much?

>> No.9315694

It's pretty bad, that's why.
And there is no mystery so nothing to talk about either

>> No.9315704

>>9315694
Yeah I played it and wasn't very interesting

Then again the first half of Umineko EP1 was boring as fuck so I'll wait until the full verision is released until I pass judgment. Doesn't look to be very promising though.

And fuck the battle gimmick

I don't think Rose Guns Days is out yet.

>> No.9315725

trial was pretty underwhelming
better question would be why do you want to talk about it? Do you suck R07's cock regardless of quality that much?

You are correct.

No I fucking hate R07

>> No.9315832

I don't particularly dislike Ryuukishi but I found it underwhelming
It tries really hard to look cool but fails at it and I think it's kind of aimed at women

>> No.9315863

I'm downloading it. I'll read it tomorrow.

>> No.9315885

The trial has no voices (obviously), so I can't really read it.
Anybody cares to give us a summary?

I hope it has the usual R07 shenanigans. The shitstorms were the best part of Umineko.

The premise seems pretty shitty, but I'll check it out anyways. Why didn't Ryukishi do the art? That would have been great.

Also, I've been wondering for a while now, why didn't witch hunt translate Higanbana, and willing to translate this?

>> No.9315984

ryukishi has lost it
he has talent but he doesnt know how to use it

>> No.9316000

You know if you look back at Higurashi

Now that Ryukishi keeps playing the same cards

It really wasn't very good either

>> No.9316081

>>9316000
A lot of people that played Higurashi watched the anime first so they already knew the answers and just played the novel for the drama. If you actually look at the mystery aspect of Higurashi it's a real trainwreck.
Thankfully, Higurashi is a story that focuses a lot on the drama, so you can just ignore the mystery enjoy the mind fuck ride with endearing characters, tragedy and good music.
Umineko on the other hand was all about the mystery and he fucked that one up big time despite a really good first 4 eps. Unlike Higurashi it doesn't stand on it's own just as a drama either. The entire second half reduces the original characters plight to a plot device and goes into some weird commentary on mystery.

>> No.9316384

So anyone who actually read the translation can comment on this?

>> No.9316549

fujoshi shit

>> No.9318139

Nothing revolutionary, but it is a fun story. Since it is Ryu, it feels light for what is supposed to be the gritty underworld of a fallen Japanese society, but it has its charm as a result. Music is good too.

Honestly, i didn't even mind LOLBRAIN PARASITES that much. Mostly because the novel handles it much better than the anime, and as you say, Higurashi focus was his chacters, which were fuckfantastic.

Anyway, i always found funny that he made fun of Higurashi so much in Umineko, when Umineko mystery was so much worse and retarded than Higurashi. (Yasu was overall a pretty lolwut character, while Takano was simply fantastic and charismatic.)

Its intellectually stimulating enough and the characters are diverse and entertaining enough to be a great VN for me, even if it has no ero and has to explain the same thing over and over again (which i think is because ryukishi truly thought his readers were dumber than him).

However, trying to solve each game's mysteries then realizing the whole thing is connected to another meta-plot and that the island murder mystery isn't the important part of the story but rather the writer's intentions and observations imparted to the reader as a metaphor for blah blah blah

>> No.9322199

I'll start the demo soon. The premise seems like it has potential; I've always liked some alternate history fiction.

Am I the only one who raged at Higurashi's solution? Herp derp parasites.
I thought I was reading a mystery novel, so I reasonably felt very betrayed by a reveal that violated nearly all the rules of the Decalogue. I hadn't seen the anime beforehand either. I still ended up liking it, but I have to dock major points off for the asspull near the end. Oh, Keiichi also made me rage at how incompetent and just plainly retarded he was in EP1. It took a few more episodes for the impression to wear off.

At least with Umineko, it felt like Ryukishi made a reasonable attempt at writing a solvable mystery, even foreshadowing the motive of the culprit as early as EP1. I also thought the characters were more interesting. At least Battler didn't piss me off right off the bat.

>> No.9323869

>>9322199
I liked Keiichi in ep1. As for the mystery, although I hadn't watched the anime beforehand, I'd heard that the solution was total bullshit so I just didn't go with the 'mystery' part. If you don't think of it as a mystery, the introduction of the solution was very well done; it was really, really subtle in ep6, slowly tricking you into accepting it.
