I think Japan will become a conservative, loli banning state even without any Christian influence. Because, you know, American influence. And you can't be stupid enough that the pedophile scare is caused merely by religious people that are largely ignored these days; the government and certain industries just have a huge political advantage by making people afraid of evil pedophiles who might do something wrong on the internet.

Politics influence religion more than the other way around. It's always been that way and it will always be that way.

Because all land on earth is already territory of existing countries, and as a new state you need to be acknowledged as such by other countries to be independent from the country that the land belongs to (regardless of whether they actually do anything with that land). If you're not acknowledged as an independent state, there's nothing stopping police and perhaps even the army of the 'host state' from arresting you according to their laws. In order to be acknowledged as an independent state, you need to either have military force, a good economic position or significant political advantage.
