I once alerted a gas station attendant that a man in the store was laying flat on his back unresponsive with blood pooling in his eyes. I also once saved a panicked little girl from potentially drowning.

more of anime today still doing those heroic thing in the end, Madoka Magica, Fate / Stay Night, Zero

the last big title anime about anti herotic behavior is Evangelion

>Toshio Okada " To me, Eva was all about "Since I can’t do anything about changing the world, I will do something about myself." Don’t you think "robot anime" is all about "trying to change the world"? Morikawa-san, you talked about the apocalyptic. One step before that is "social reform" (yo-naoshi). One of the key concepts for understanding otaku is "a child’s sense of justice." The reason grown-ups are enthusiastic about Kamen Rider and the "warrior team" genre (sentai mono) is because that basic sense of justice, which we abandoned in society a long time ago, is still meaningful in the world of these TV shows. Of course, there’s also the terrific monster designs and panchira60 [the fleeting display of girls’ panties], but that’s not enough to keep the boys interested. That basic sense of justice worked until Eva. But with Eva, it became clear that no one could save the world. And Eva complicated the whole thing, raising issues such as "Maybe I should at least save myself" and "What’s wrong with me, thinking only about saving myself?" Eva marked a turning point. Whatever we discuss today, we cannot avoid Eva."

>Takashi Murakami "Evangelion is the endpoint of the post-war lineage of otaku favorites - from Godzilla to the Ultra series to Yamato to Gundam - in which hero-figures increasingly question and agonize over their righteous missions to defend the earth and humanity"

It was kind of my fault she needed to be pulled out in the first place. I don't really like to yell and I felt bad yelling at people to stay away from that certain part of the pool. I did tell her a few times prior, though. She didn't listen. She eventually got too close to one of the grills and got pulled towards it. When I saw the look of fear on her face I knew I had to go in to get her. She was able to grab onto the tube so it was fine.

It's the suspected spinal injuries and sinkers you need to be careful with. If someone has a suspected spinal injury you need to strap them on a plank-like float with a head stabilizer and ask them questions so they remain conscious. You cannot ask them any yes or no questions though, because the natural response a person gives for those questions results in them moving their neck up and down or left and right. If someone's sinking you're technically supposed to get to them in 15 seconds and depending on their position and depth you're supposed to get them to the top using the appropriate technique. The company also would stage fake injuries a few times a week just to keep the staff on alert.

I quit the following day after getting that girl out and I still feel guilty. The co-workers were really weird anyway and none of the hats fir me nor the shirts because I supposedly have a really long torso, according to my boss.

Some asshole was playing pranks on everyone in our hotel. Like putting Elmers on the toilet seats and dumping water on people's clothes. So I broke into his room and smeared chocolate pudding all over his toilet seat so it looked like explosive diarrhea. Then I nailed him with a chocolate pudding pack that exploded all over his shirt.

It just goes to show that I'm not very heroic and being an asshole gets you covered in chocolate pudding.

When I was a kid I saw a group of boys bullying a cat, and I ran in and punched one of them in the back. I utterly lost that fight, but thankfully the cat got away.

There was also the time when I became friends with a girl at my vacation house. She got bullied a lot by the other kids there and because I was friends with pretty much everyone the bullying stopped after a while.
