I so skimmed through some of the Fumo threads in the archive. I personally don't see the appeal of it, but I could care less that people do it.

Personally, I would like to see stickies utilized more. Maybe every couple of days have some kind of "topic of the day". Music, image dump, idol, game, VN, NEET, or whatever else. then on the weekends just have some "MS paint ur fav 2hu", or "/jp/ off-topic/shitpost general".
But something like this would require a little effort on the part of mods, which would never happen. but then again, these could just be bad ideas.

What if we had a system whereby threads were ordered not by date or size, but by when they were posted in last? We could call such posting "bumping" and have a way to opt-out of bumping if you feel your post shouldn't bump the thread.

That way, good threads are more likely to appear on the front page, and low quality posts are quickly buried by valid contributions. Oh, how a man can dream!

I was the one who started forcing the ``please respond" thing back around, IIRC, February, and I have to say I'm surprised by how it's been perceived. I was never using it as a cheap way to bump threads or give the OP attention. It wasn't meant as anything "cute" or friendly. It was supposed to be the same idea as "QUALITY THREAD". Find shit threads with 0 replies, namefag as "OP" and say "please respond". That's it.

I like what /jp/ did with it though and the guy with the images was annoying at first but his persistence is pretty remarkable.

No...? I post anon. Anyway I don't mind about whether anyone believes me, was just commenting. It's not like I have anything to be proud of -- "please respond" isn't original at all. I just took the phrase from some pic which is apparently famous on /r9k/ or some other shitty board and forced it over and over again.

I did however create several of the more common "please respond" images (not the ones Alice/Satori guy uses), which took a bit more effort. I was a little shamefully proud when I saw ZUN!Bar using some. So I could screencap the date these pics were created and compare them against when they were first posted to /jp/. Is that "proof"?

In the end though, I'm not proud and I don't claim "ownership" or anything. No one "owns" ideas as far as I'm concerned and I'm much happier to sit back and watch what other people do with "my" shitty forced meme than try to big up my own efforts.

3. Visual novel reviews. I suggested this a few days ago. It would be nice if we could have someone play a VN once per week, write up a short review of it, then post a thread and we can all argue about how wrong they are. Or just post it in the VN general thread, I guess.
4. Let's Plays. Not the stupid video ones, but screenshot LPs with poster interaction. There was a fun LP of Princess Maker 2 on you-know-where and it would be nice if people here did something similar. I guess a lot of people would get annoyed by that sort of thing, though.

For the one millionth time, /jp/ is /th/. It just so happens that Touhou isn't that popular (it's certainly not overtaking the board, even if it's one of our most common topic), so we have some other subjects like visual novels and doujin music.

/dg/ and /tou/ makes no sense though, because /tou/ is pretty much a direct subset of /dg/.

Regardless, the board isn't fast enough to warrant further splitting.

To be honest I think things like /jp/-related cosplay should be allowed on /jp/, but only in moderation. Same with Touhou papercraft, bentos, whatever. As long as it isn't excessive. It's already been argued to death how all our content could fit on other boards.

Anime is the exception, really. Anime should go on /a/, period, since that's the point of our board.
