Ron Paul was always behind, and he can never persuade the mass groups that decide votes. Watch Inside Job if you want to know why someone like Paul can never win. It's a pretty nice summation of what everyone already knows is wrong.

Corporations and the financial district have always owned politics and it's not going to change. Ever. I would tell you to just move to another country that's not shit but America has a habit of bringing everyone down with them when they fall. You can thank the globalists like Soros for that.

Are you blind? That's exactly how the people in the financial district got their money. They don't *create* anything, they simply shift it into their pockets. They sell shit assets and then jump ship before everything hits the fan. That's the whole fucking reason the economy collapsed and why executives were getting millions in bonuses while we bailed out their mess rather than taking their "bonuses" to bail out their own mess. Unfortunately, they blew most of their paychecks on hookers and blow so we'd be pretty short even if we took everything they owned.

The housing bubble was created because the government started subsidizing home loans and holding interests rates artificially low, so that everyone and their fucking mother could afford a house. The market got extremely oversaturated, and the bubble popped.

The same thing is happening with college loans right now. We're subsidizing college loans, keeping interests rates artificially low, many people who should have degrees are getting them.. the market is oversaturated.. and POP. I can't wait to see all the tears.

You're right about the fact that we shouldn't have bailed out the corporations though, that's not how the free market works. If you make bad decisions, you deserve to go out of business. I don't know what you're talking about when you say that they don't "create" anything though, care to explain?

You think these companies get rich just by being greedy? You think if I woke up tomorrow and decided to be greedy, I could be a millionaire?

Of course not. These businesses get rich by providing a service, that's how they get money. Even if they are born into wealth, because they had a wealthy father or whatever, that wealth is invested, and aids in the construction of new factories and the such.

Or they put it in the banks and the banks use the money to give loans to people looking to start new small businesses.

>> No.9267174

>>9267147
You know why that actually happened?

Because THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT paid S&P and Moore's to give those shit loans AAA ratings even though they were, as I said, shit loans. They flat out lied about the ratings because they got paid to rate them AAA. The housing bubble never would've happened if they didn't pull that shit. It had very little to do with the loans being subsidized, the rating agencies were just making bank by hiding them and creating the bubble. When the rating agencies were called out on it in Congress they said the ratings were simply their "opinions" and it was everyone else's fault for trusting their opinions.

The same exact thing is currently happening with student loan debt that has recently surpassed credit card debt. It's the next bubble and it's going to pop sooner than you think. Prepare for a double-dip recession, but it WILL happen.

Ron Paul is a Neolibral. From what I gather a Neolibral is someone who wants a totally freemarket where the goverment does not get involved with bussiness affairs, and a minimal goverment to protect the state with an army and justice system, but everything else people must pay for. So no free healthcare, education, fire services, etc.

Mark, Steve and Larry all live on an island. They have to spend all day fishing for 2 fish in order to feed themselves for that day. One day Mark has a brilliant idea, he decides to under consume for a couple days and save some fish for a rainy day in case he gets under the weather(let's pretend he has a way to not let the fish rot, okay?). After a couple days of this practice he has 2 extra fish, and when he goes to brag to his friends about his brilliant plan, he finds that they have fallen ill! His friends tell Mark that there is no way they will be able to fish, since they need to save their energy.

So Mark offers them a deal.. "I'll give each of you a fish today, if in return you each give me TWO fish in return." Steve and Larry agree to this deal in an instant, practically salivating at the mouth, and a week later they pay Mark back the debt.

Now, class, Mark only gave up two of his fish, but got four in return. He objectively profited more from this arrangement than Steve and Larry, does that mean what he did was greedy and wrong?

Indeed, a free market is not the same as a fair market. It's agreed that we play capitalism by certain rules, you don't steal stuff, you don't kill people, etc. Regulation is and should be setting up fair rules by which to play the game, not interventionist and inefficient policy that is controversial.

There are lots of perverse incentives with the system, and people can exploit monetary power to gain more power.

The real problem is tax havens and labor havens in a global economy. International corporations will simply flee when they become too regulated. for example, in Cuba and other Communist countries all the rich, educated and industrialists fled before the revolution in fear of complete regulation.

>9267198

At the same time I can understand mistrust in government who has shitted things up. As it is government may be no less corrupt than corporations. Sort of like unions, which were very corrupt but at least they represented labor interests and served as a counterbalance to corporate interests.

What American needs is a realistic multi-party system, with a preliminary any-candidate round, followed by a top 2 vs eachother round. The problem is that both parties are hopelessly corrupt, just one side more blatantly than the other.

Then we need to generate an economy that produces industrial goods, intellectual property, and technology, rather than our largely service and disposable goods based economy. This means reducing college sizes, and recognizing the value of vocational post-high schooling, as well as prioritizing engineering, the sciences, and media production.

Green energy is also another important industry, if simply to give competition to the OPEC oligopoly, forcing them to lower prices.
