I wanna be open about it /jp/. No more shame or hiding it. I don't even talk about it with other people who are into it all. Do you guys have it all out in the open and how do you get along?

>> No.9257642

Get along with whom exactly?

>> No.9257639

wu u qut?

>> No.9257643

What the fuck are you talking about dude? No one comes in my room so no one knows.

>> No.9257644

Talk about it with us obviously. Who the fuck needs normals.

>> No.9257647

I have everything in the open but I don't have any friends.

>> No.9257650

Don't let anyone come to your house who you don't trust.

I repeat, do not do this. It is a very invasive feel to have people in your shit. It happened to me once. That sensation when you show them your figure collection and instead of being all "Sugoi, nigga" they just smile.

Grrrr...

>> No.9257652

If I saw some nerd collecting girl statues I would unfriend them on the spot.

>> No.9257658

I would totally be all "Sugoi nigga" over your figure collection

>> No.9257661

I don't keep eroge stuff around in the open, but I do keep nendoroids and figmas in a display cabinet in the living room -pretty even ratio of poon to sausage. Should I worry about mild things?

who are you quoting?

Thanks, man. You can come over anytime.

>>9257661
It depends on what you're worried about. If you don't want anyone to know you're into weeaboo shit you should probably put it all away. If you're trying to dodge the pervert tag, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

>>9257667
Well, I'm not really doing anything...

Waaaait a minute! I see what you're trying to do! No soy Mexicano, holmes!

>> No.9257717

I have all my stuff out in the open, and it's fine. I always live in shared housing, and occasionally that means people are in my room for short periods. Truthfully it was weird the first couple of times, since people tend to pretend to be accepting.

I don't actually own any ero figs or any porn though. Just the regular cute girls doing cute things. My sister drops by about once a month, and she always comments on how perverted my Lucky Star poster is, which I always find bizarre. It's Lucky Fucking Star.

>> No.9257728

>>9257637
I live in a barracks and I have a Youmu nendo on my desk, sometimes I'll leave the door open and someone will come in while I'm playing Touhou. I almost never get asked about it, and if I do usually it's "hey what game is that anon?" and I say "It's a shooter, try it."
I don't ever feel like I'm treated differently because of it

>> No.9257740

>>9257717
>she always comments on how perverted my Lucky Star poster is
This is pretty much the whole reason power level suppression is advised.

The straights don't know how to take this shit at all.

>>9257728
That actually doesn't surprise me. I would imagine that soldiers brave enough to face life or death situations every day would have a lot more perspective than the average normalfriend.

>> No.9257752

The most i'll expose my hobby to the rest of the world is through the album artwork on my iPod

I'm not going to make myself look even more like the gangly motherfuckers on campus that wear fedoras and naruto shirts than I already appear to be

>soldiers brave enough to face life or death situations every day

I don't want to knock on my own job, but 99% of the intel guys here have never and probably will never play in the sandbox.

The main thing about the military is that it's not high school so no one gives a shit about your hobbies. My room in the dorms was filled with figs and posters, the worst I got was ``Wow you really like anime.''

Yeah, but when you enlist you're rolling the dice that you're gonna end up in a warzone and that definitely takes balls.

>>9257777
Pretty much what I figured. I've been sickened, though, by how many people carry over a high school mentality into their adult lives.

It's not a lot of dice rolling these days, I was guaranteed my job in the Air Force and my sister had it the same with the Navy.

While that's true, there are some jobs (mine) that you're almost guaranteed to stay stateside. One of the sergeants around here with the same job tried his hardest to get deployed, and kept getting turned down, eventually they did deploy him.

To Germany.

I was going to try to join the Air Force, but they require you to have been off medication for depression for 2 years - I only had one. I needed a stable living environment far before then, so I did other things, and I'll likely not do anything with them because I'm settled elsewhere.

This guy, OP.

As a relatively normal person, It irks me that some many people find it necessary to hide this tame hobby (yep f/a/gs, I'm talking about you).

>> No.9257936

The people I've talked to haven't really cared. My stuff is my stuff, their stuff is their stuff. One of my friends is a brony, but he keeps it to himself as much as I do my animu - brought up only when appropriate.

The majority don't really give a shit about your hobbies. As usual, the minority assholes are the loudest, and noone else says anything. Just ignore the assholes, and you might find some good people if you default to "this dude/gal could be a good person."

Yeah, I've got a couple cousins that did that. Once became a military pharmacist and the other just fixes planes and shit... in Montana.

Dunno, though. I still think it's pretty brave. If the government decides it needs you somewhere, they're going to stick you there whether you like it or not. That would mess with me.
