Played a rpg maker game made by the infamous forkheads guys, named the forkhead rpg. I am sure you played a flash game from them with slutty mc slut.
In this game was a weaboo bar in which cirnos theme played. I searched that song in the mp3 list of that game and googled it because it sounded so catchy. What I found was a cirnos theme on piano with cirnos perfect math class in the related videos.
I couldnt stop watching that video, even if it was on japanese with no subs and I didnt know wtf wwas going on.
Googled touhou then, saw that it were games and torrented a touhou pack with all games (up to 12.3). I started with 1 and played every game after that, didnt completed any of the pc98 games though.

Used to play Starcraft bw on a crappy outdated pc, later on during the various lurking through custom games I came across "Bullet Hell" The game was a micro-ing bound type of thing. Overall the gameplay was amazing, harder than anything I've seen on Starcraft's usual dull swill; but that wasn't what kept me coming back, the music was a brown pasty substance that was a crackling form (converted to a god know's what file to be played in starcraft.) which began to cause a slight tingling in my nether regions. Of course after long time I got bored, and decided to look up "Bullet hell" and came across this odd shooter, course I played it, searched up images of Patchouli and began stimulating myself in a demeaning fashion.

Of course this only lasted so long, and I directed my attention elsewhere to seek further stimuli, which brought me to /a/, now I know many boards, but /a/ was the most despicable in the usage and trade of "sage" this lead to serious contemplations of murder suicide after finding their addresses, but then died down after I was assured they contracted a deadly form of cancer; I left /a/, and in turn I found a new place, /jp/, here the portrayals of patchy are limitless and my brimming vigor can be spent at every sight in a furious, and again demeaning manner.

Around late 2011 I was watching someone stream video games and one guy in the chat said "Hey dude you should play touhou." He was all "What the fuck is touhou?" and eventually downloaded and played either UFO or FW, I forgot. Ended up downloading and playing TD and EoSD myself and gave up on it because I wasn't autistic enough to beat stage 1. Months after I decided to come back to it.

Can't remember exactly but it happened around a year ago. While i was browsing /a/v/jp/, i noticed many people talking about Touhou and its great music. So i was curious and tried it to see what the fuss is it all about. I downloaded PCB. The menu music was ok, nothing special. Then i went to stage 1 and my mind was blasted by how great its theme was. At that time i didn't know the shooting button so i tried to do a pacifist run and i couldn't get past stage 1.

Leave the /a/ kids alone. Most of us ultra elitist oldfags came from /a/ during the split. I'd prefer someone with prerequisite /a/ knowledge than someone without. If anything, the majority of /a/ should teach them how *not* to act in /jp/.

Try actually telling me what's wrong with it

At this stage I don't even really care about the fact that the vast majority of Touhou posters apparently got here last year. It's that /jp/ is quite happy to let this be the case. It's not about "the good old days", a thread like this would've eroded into metaposting and floods of "get out of /jp/" maybe even a month ago. Instead here we are. "i found out about 2hu wile i was looking for funnay memes for mai school project ^_^". And no one minds.

I want to believe it's trolling. Most of it really doesn't seem like it.

>Why would they come here if they are new

Because if there are enough people just like them at /jp/ they'll feel like they're in good company. Eventually they'll outnumber actual /jp/ers and take over the place. Same way plenty of other boards went to shit.

/jp/ is fine, the posters are fine, the content is fine. A typical page today is no different from a typical page in 2008 or 2009.

The problem is the meta. Too many people complaining. If you genuinely get upset at pictures that aren't from what you think /jp/ should be about, why not ignore them? Or use an extension if you have OCD/ADD.

In my case I originally known of it's exsistance by accident when waltzing onto a board that was also popular for Rozen Maiden images (Back when Rozen Maiden was actually POPULAR!) Yet I paid no heed to it...

Eventually a friend of mine introduced me to Touhou via chat and guess which board he linked me too.... the same I use to visit. And before long I begin to look further into it and eventually got attached to it and got a hold of the games and soon afterwards doujin....

Also FYI, this all took place WAY before IOSYS started doing Touhou flashes, way before /a/ got introduced to it, and way before /jp/ was made to split up Touhou discussions... so probably just before PoFV was released is my estimation....that makes me pretty damn ancient.

Anyway, first found Touhou through some piano arrangements. Then I started downloading lots of music (especially Alstroemeria and TAMusic). 3 years ago, I had no idea what Touhou was, or that it even existed. I would see the characters, like the Alice threads that were on /b/, but I had no interest in looking the characters up. I did see someone post a picture of Flandre though, and damn if those wings didn't catch my eye. About a month later I saw another picture of her, looked her up, and thought that she would have been like a main character from some anime or something. I looked up Touhou and found it was a group of shooters, which put me off, as I at the time had no experience with one.
A week later, I found a medley of the EoSD songs, Sound Test in Touhou, and saw that Flandre was depicted as a crazy person, which sparked my interest in her character. I thought that the best place to find out about her character was through the game she was in. I found out she was in the Ex stage of EoSD, which didn't put me off the game, it actually fueled me to get better. Of course by the time I got to her and beat her a few months later (I'm casual as hell), I already looked up and found all I could want to know about her, but it was enjoyable to go against and defeat the character that got me into the series.
I've found the games to be quite enjoyable by their selves, and as casual as I am, I can say I can at least beat a few of the games on Hard.
