Who cares. Only shit threads were deleted, like blogs, anime and other zunbar sponsored crap.

This thread is now meta

I'm enjoying everyone's butthurt. It's nice to have some entertainment between posts in actual, on-topic threads.

You mean the threads that were deleted?

>> No.9198256,4 [INTERNAL]

Hey guys, let me delete 12 pages of a board despite me knowing that it does much more harm than good 100% of the time.

So is it really AoC? I don't think it is, but he's also the only crazy guy that did such a OCD thing in the past.

dude fuck off seriously.
>>9198256,3
Most of those were shitposts and I sort of wonder if maybe the creators just deleted the threads themselves to make meido (yeah meido, not NSJ, homolord) look bad

I saw your similar post on /jp/ proper and almost responded. I guess I'll bite here.

What you're saying is very stupid. It's like telling genuine, rule-breaking shitposters (to whatever degree) that they have the janitor by the balls and they're allowed to do what they like in moderation.

I doubt the staff/janitors are taught to not do their jobs in case some people spam when they do.

You know I'm right.

Go ahead and list the benefits to deleting 80% a board. I'd like to see this.

Go ahead and list the benefits of not moderating the board and leave people like you who are only here to promote off-topic discussion run rampant?

Yeah, I'm sure a dozen people all deleted their threads at the exact same time. Makes sense.

>> No.9198256,11 [INTERNAL]

>>9198256,10
Doesn't change the fact that most, if not all of the deleted threads were off-topic and/or blatant shitposts.

Your post falls flat on its face because we can't prove the existence of "genuine, rule-breaking shitposters" in the first place thanks to our clearly undefined rules.

>>9198256,9
There's no way 80% of the board deserves to be deleted. Doing so accomplishes nothing positive. Just delete your 2 pages of randumb /b/ threads and call it a day.

When you get all e-OCD like this it simply encourages more shitposting in order to fill up those 12 lost pages. You make /jp/ much worse than how it was before.

>> No.9198256,14 [INTERNAL]

>>9198256,13
Why are you getting so frustrated? I hate jumping to conclusions but it really sounds like you are part of the current shitposting spree.

Just wait it out, there's no need to worry about unrelated threads getting deleted, unless of course... oh...

>Your post falls flat on its face because we can't prove the existence of "genuine, rule-breaking shitposters" in the first place thanks to our clearly undefined rules.

I chose my words carefully. Specifically the parenthetical bit about "to whatever degree". Take an extreme example: photographic child pornography. Imagine someone spammed CP so then Team 4chan said: "Guess it can't be helped. Let them have 3 or 4 threads, they're not hurting anyone."
Again, extreme example, but even trivial spam sets a dangerous precedent. The rules exist for a reason. Every internet community dating way back to the earliest days of Usenet realized this. Hell, every real life community has. Rules don't disappear because of the quantity of people breaking them. Murderers aren't allowed to get away with it because the police have filled their arrest quota that year.

Though obviously this was excessive, and most threads in >>9198256,12 were fine. I hope we can get some word back about what happened.

>>9198256,13
Somebody just made thirty or so Ron Paul threads. But I guess we can't say that he's a shitposter, because it's not in the rules.

>>9198256,12
He's still right, because a hundred and twenty shitty threads out of a hundred fifty is still a majority even if thirty non-completely-shitty threads got deleted.

>>9198256,15
Janitor went on a joyride.

>> No.9198256,17 [INTERNAL]

The janitor should consider deleting a few threads every once in a while instead of blowing up the entire board...

Regardless of the quality they're still on-topic and harmless. Certainly preferable over the shitstorm that he invited in by deleting them.
