This >pre-renewal/x update was better seriously need to stop, private servers are the best evidence of this not working, fact is nobody wants to live in the past, people have nostalgic feeling of when it was old when new changes cause the game to go into a terrible direction, doesn't mean they don't want changes/updates (which most people believe and what gravity probably believe), it's just that people DON'T want shitty changes.

I have seen thousands of retro servers rise and fall because it simply isn't any interesting a game in the past, you literally create a game that is different from current versions and lacks content, you split communities in an attempt to gain more people, which cause people to leave instead.

This is a decision worth of gravity after making RO2 when RO was going well, just to split investiments and create a trainwreck that is RO2.

Private servers start and end ALL THE TIME. Going by "x RO build sucks because I've seen private servers with it close", the entire game could be said to be shit.

Thing is, Renewal was not just another update, standard procedure of MMOs. They changed the entire fucking game. Exp tables, classes, gear, damage formulas, mob locations, quests, EVERYTHING. There are people affected solely by nostalgia, surely, there will always be, but playing RO and Renewal means two completely different experiences, and it is to be expected that there will be people who prefer one or another more.

I played the iRO beta and then leveled a knight to 85-ish.

Leveling that knight took me FOREVER. I got so burnt out that I never played RO ever again (Renewal included). Maybe if it wasn't 1x exp.

And QQ'n on the official forums and asking for more exp events seems to work quite nicely.

I don't have any 150's because I'm too damn autistic to get in to turn in parties which are essential in renewal.
My highest is 140 which I pretty much solo'd it to.
I miss the old exp and drop system the most.
This within 10 levels to get anything crap pisses me off.

When I remember RO, it's not just those things that come to my mind.

I remember a time when MMOs weren't about "does this have endgame guys", but about becoming the strong motherfucker everyone wants to be when playing a MMORPG. About exploring the world and spamming F2 for potions while a big box with a happy face slaps your shit. About the journey and the adventures involved, even if it was slow and painful.
