Yes, she was not one of Akimoto's favorites. But now that Atsuko is leaving, Yuko has becomes his favorite not because he likes her, but because she will now rake in the money. Since Sashihara Rino was removed from AKB48 Akimoto's main group, his main source of income he didn't want AKB48 associated with this type of ordeal. So to protect his brand he had to take drastic actions. It's called business regardless of how fans/wotas feel about it.

Mai and Erena's exits aren't that they left the group. Only to find out they were dating in the dark while in AKB. Think about it, Mai said she dated 8 guys AFTER she left AKB. She didn't say "oh i am dating some one." She said "I've dated 8 guys so far after I left." We are not talking 1,2,3 or 4. She said this in one of the shows Sanma does, I forgot the name.
