Idiot here.

Where the fuck did modern Japanese culture come from? It's completely Alien to either traditional pre Meiji restoration Japanese culture, or post Meiji and post world war 2 Westernized culture.

So what the fuck happened? Where did all this come from?

the shitposting culture of /jp/ is probably the most refined shitposting culture on all of 4chan

the main reason why i keep coming back here is because i enjoy the shitposting culture on this board, not the "proper" content

>Where the fuck did modern Japanese culture come from?

It's easy. In the rest of the world, people tend to be a whole ass. Too many words to explain it at all, while in Japan, they are open-minded. They allow and consent almost everything, and respect each other.

Let's make an example. In my country. I was one day having a walk with some friends. Then we saw some guys cosplaying as the Uchija clan from Naruto. Inmediately, one of my friends started making fun of them.

Does that happen in Japan? No. You can be a total freak-ass, and nobody will tell you anything. Almost anything is allowed, nobody will look weird at you just for having strange ideas or strange likes and dislikes. Everyone is what they are, and nobody complains.

That's why.
