Wait, does this mean we aren't going to see THAT HAIR anymore? Sou Miyata was the guy responsible for previous âge art, right?
He was just copying poses for shitty promo/merchandise materials for fucks sake. His characters itself were original and damn good.

>The animation production company Ixtl (Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse) posted a notice on Monday stating that it dismissed artist Sou Miyata on Sunday. Ixtl states that Miyata will have no more involvement with the company. Ixtl does not specifically state the reason for Miyata's dismissal.

>Miyata's art for Total Eclipse has recently been accused of tracing. Several Japanese blogs have posted comparison images between a Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse magazine image (pictured at center) that is credited to Miyata and illustrations from other titles (pictured at left, at right, and below).

If he referenced the image he couldn't be accused of tracing, sad. The whole overlay shit is what really kills him.

>> No.9166708

It was already time. I still can't comprehend how they didn't fire him after stealing nearly the whole cast of Muv-luv from Kiminozo.

>> No.9166722

Big deal, tracing, as if shows didn't already use like the same 20 faces and haircuts for everything.

He didn't trace art, he improved it.

By replacing the originals with characters from Muv-Luv? I don't care how shitty the originals were, they couldn't have been that bad.

In this case the originals were pretty bad.
Still, making a montage out of 4 pictures is no small feat.

this is why being an artist sucks balls. Just be lazy a single time and you're in a world of pain.

It was his third offense and seems like some serious shit went down the second time.
I still think it is too harsh, especially since this wasn't outright copypaste. Also, these promotion arts tend to have shit quality.

I'm not surprised, after all, its how business goes, just cheat if you can't handle it, even that guy who draw that slam dunk manga traces also, but from photos instead of other artworks

>> No.9170486

That's already derivative work. It's not like Miyata drew those girls and called them his own.
