I only buy meat from my local Joel Salatin type rancher.

His livestock spends their whole lives in the pasture, they are never sent to feed lots where they're force fed the ground of bits of cats and dogs and other cattle, and they're not pumped full of antibiotics so that they don't get sick from the hideously unsanitary conditions they're living in, and they're not closed in pens too small to turn around in, and they aren't butchered by underpaid Mexican migrants who are fucked over by OSHA every time one of them in maimed in an accident.

Yessir, just pasture raised cruelty free meat. You can taste the happiness of the animal in every bite.

I'm painfully aware of this. This is one of the main reasons 2D plays the primary role in my escapism. That's how mad cow disease spreads. Prions are fucking impossible to destroy so when the ground up bits of brains and shit from infected dead cattle is fed to healthy cattle, the healthy cows contract the disease.

Well, I've had alot of experience in dealing with vegan people and views, and I can tell you one thing, they get extremely anal over what does and doesn't qualify someone as a vegan, the majority of them will literally blindly follow the "official" guidelines of being a vegan without question.

Breaking those guidelines, is like losing a status symbol for them, they take it very personally. It's almost cult like really.

So when you mention something like, "why do you say it's not ok to eat honey, even though you eat tons of insects every day", they will get butt-hurt as fuck. Seriously, go ask that question in the yahoo answers vegan section, see what happens.

However, what you personally eat is something you can help. If someone decides to drop animal products off their diets, he wants to think he's accomplishing his goal. Some are just too autistic about it and probably haven't heard of the Buddhist "if it wasn't specifically killed to feed you it's not your fault" maxim.
