I don't really think the Episodes 5, 6 and 7 are bad... maybe the worst is the 5th. 6 is good from my point (it could have been better) and 7 is more like "please solve the fucking mistery and make a theory now" at least it could be boring
What I loved about Umineko is that all the characters have a dark side behind the "I'm a good person, who loves all his family :_D" facade, and that made the novel really close.
Also, the siblings are cool guys, they fight Goatmens and Magic and doesn't afraid of anything.
The only think I wanted is at least a happier ending... excluding "EP8 ????" (that destroyed the beautiful ending of EP8) maybe I wanted the same Ange wanted (or partially), but Ryukishi said "Nope Ange, fuck your dreams becoming true"
Also I am still laughing in the EP8 Tea Party because I don't see a next When They Cry near anywhere and I want a new one.

Umineko is a serie that you can hate and love at the same time. At least that's for me. I really loved reading through this, but Ep8, even if it's fun to read, its ending is pretty meh.

That good for nothing Battler? all he did was being funny by being a dunce and help the slowest players confirm stuff. By the time Erika kicked in, Battler was obsolete. "lulz look at my cape I'm gamemaster and now I'm sensible and caring", an utter dissapointment. At least in the first arc he was your typical hot blooded idiot, after DID he went downhill.
Erika on the other hand, was an awesome character who stole the show every time she was on the screen. She was funny and clever, a perfect old school incompetent villain mixed with a pompous detective. Stuff like putting tape all over the windows or those "perfect examinations", that's what I'm talking about. She was great even when she was being the lap dog of Bern.

I have not read any of the Umineko VN nor have I seen the anime. I know very very little of the series.

I came to this conclusion based on the majority of posts I usually see every time an Umineko thread comes up. And by that I lightly skim over the thread and read a post or two here or there.
