This is assuming that magic is a part of or is the underlying foundation of the physics of Gensokyo.

Isn't it canon that Sakuya can't reverse time? Doesn't that imply that some form of time akin to the theory of relativity still exists in Gensokyo? Even if you remove the blatant magic of having the necessary energy contained within a human body to be capable of warping local spacetime, the underlying nature of time at least is something similar to our physics, and we only need to assume that other branches of physics function in the same manner.

>> No.9088637

>>9088626
You're thinking about it completely wrong. The fundamental physical nature of Gensokyo is not some completely perverse, eldritch concept. It's conventional physics. It's just that magic overrides physics. If you change physics to justify magic it's not magic you dense fuck.

"perverting".

perverting present participle of per·vert (Verb)
Verb:

1 Alter (something) from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended.
2 Lead (someone) away from what is considered right, natural, or acceptable

>> No.9088774

>>9088759
I guess his point is that they're manipulated in a way independent of our current idea of how physics work.

But of course science would just adapt to accommodate magic, as science always does. Fuck you science, It's all, "Hahahaha lol you believe in this shit?!" at first then it's always, "Oh you have a point BUT IT'S OKAY BECAUSE NOW IT'S SCIENCE."

>> No.9088786

>>9088772
Yes. Science is an effort to understand and utilize the natural world. You don't mine guns out of mountains, for instance. You change it from it's natural state into a weapon of war. Of course I admit that is a pretty basic example that could be considered a ``natural'' course of events, but that seems to me more of a philosophical argument than a scientific one.

Magic operates without regards to, or even in spite of, the fundamental fabric of reality. It can in few if any reasonable ways be included under any branch of science.
