Have you been productive today, /jp/?

Have you had fun?

>> No.9056096

Today has been exceptionally boring, and it's pretty hard to bore me, I blame it on my new sleep schedule, I like staying up all night, not at day.

No one is during the day, the threads suck, etc. As for productive? Nope...

I finally got around to wandering around haven and hearth again. It seems the final fate of the /jp/ villages were all pretty sad. I'm gearing up through a series of lightning raids of the semi abandoned settlements around my house to make the journey to the big village everyone was supposed to move to. I wonder if it fared any better than the others.

Does this count as productivity?

I've been forced to go on a course to continue getting my welfare and I socialized a little bit with the other people there during my lunch break. I just wish I could talk to people loud enough without stuttering or talking too slowly. Whenever I try to say something to someone who is not already actively listening to me, I either get interrupted before I manage to finish my first word, or they ask what I was saying, or they just pretend they got it even though they clearly didn't.

I still laugh at how 4chan doesn't understand what sage means.

If only I knew moon so I wouldn't have to spend time on a board that imports foreign concepts and then DOES IT WRONG all the time.

Using sage as a way to "insult" someone's post or thread is just completely wrong and a retarded misuse of a good feature that is so popular in sites like 2ch and Futaba. Fuck, iichan and 4-ch do it right. It's just 4chan and 4chan's lame knockoffs that fail at using sage.

The true meaning of sage means that YOUR POST isn't worthy enough to bump the thread. It's ironic, because you think that you're insulting others while you're just, in fact, insulting yourself. Yes, sage can be used when posting a derogatory comment in a thread that you don't want to bump, but posting with just the word "sage" accomplishes nothing but contribute to spamming the board. The trend of replying with the name of a tripfag and sage is even worse, as it accomplishes nothing and only serves to increase the e-penis of whoever you're "attacking".

The sage feature was never meant to serve as an implied insult or general disagreement! Why people started using it that way is beyond me. There are plenty of reasons why one would choose not to bump a thread with his reply. For example, bumping threads with stupid one liner replies should be discouraged and those people should be coerced into using sage instead.

I want to use sage, yet I almost never do it on 4chan because people will jump on me thinking I'm insulting their post or something.

My day was productive as fuck.
I drove for an hour to visit the orthodontist, where he just looked at my bite (getting braces off in a month, after years of bullshit), and then visited the town where I'll be going to college this summer, and next semester.
First, I drove around and got lost. Then I parked my car and went to visit the campus library. When I went back to the parking lot, I couldn't find my car, though!
After an hour, and with the help of the campus police, the car was found... in a different parking lot. Only slightly embarrassed about it.
Then I ate a vending machine lunch, and visited with one of my advisors. We talked about what classes I should take, and how my transfer credits may determine what classes I can avoid re-taking. I learned there was going to be a new professor who specializes in evolutionary game theory starting next semester, and I'm kind of excited to start taking his classes.
I also visited financial aid, but they weren't much help. The student employment center was closed for the day, too - and the room where I was supposed to pick up an application for a night-duty job at the library was locked.
I got to talk with a nice lady at the registrar's office, though - she helped me understand some of the required classes, and moved around some classes to help my graduation audit be more complete.

Sadly these days it's hard to do that, with such a broken economy. You need a job that pays, at the very least, 20-25 dollars an hour but they are so hard to come by, as with so many people out of work there are a lot of desperate people out there who will work for crumbs.

I myself work in an independent bookstore that pays about 17 an hour, 6 days a week. It's enough for a cheap apartment, internet and food stuffs. At least the work isn't hard. You can read whatever you want too. Maybe you could find a laid back job like that.

I no longer live in the UK, but I did for a while many yeras ago. You really have to have a strong case of autism there.

From what I hear lately from /jp/sies on IRC or here, they are cracking down on people who are on social benefits, going as far as to track your purchases to see if they're useless. They lack the tax dollars to be paying for that stuff now....frankly I blame all the immigrants that get in (I have nothing against foreigners, but there is NO FUCKING MONEY, WORK OR PLACES TO LIVE FOR YOU, life would be better at home).

People and governments are so broke now, they are trying to find pennies to save wherever they can. Sadly that includes autism bux.

I'm on a waiting list to be properly diagnosed, though it's just for Asperger's and it'll apparently take a few months because my local trust is awful. From what I've gathered, people with Asperger's aren't entitled to any specific benefits, but they will help you get a job:
http://www.autism.org.uk/our-services/employment-support.aspx
I imagine the same applies for regular autistic disorder, but it's usually comorbid with things like mental retardation that you can obviously get financial support for.

Right now I'm a complete mess in terms of social interaction and communication, and my social worker/counsellor/psychologist (I don't know who she is) thinks I might be entitled to Employment and Support Allowance. I read a few documents and I'm not sure if I meet the criteria for "limited capability for work", but we'll see.
