Right now I'm starting to explore that genus of music known as "j-core". I first found out about it about a year ago, when I clicked in a DJ Sharpnel video someone I have on Facebook posted on her wall. I was like "hey this is interesting", then I clicked on DJ Technorch's Silencer. MIND: BLOWN.

Since then I've been checking out all the different subgenres on that medium. So far I have a couple of TANO*C discs, as much as I could find from DJ Technorch, and this album from USAO, plus a lot of loose songs I ripped from Youtube. I especially like speedcore, schranz (I really like that fast, constant rolling beat), hardstyle, hardcore trance, and of course anything that is also a Touhou arrange. I used to be a lot into gabber but not so much anymore.

I could go on (I upload quite a few record labels of this kind of music on /mu/) but I won't. I wish more Doujin producers would dabble around in these styles. Apart from DJ Shimamura, Fang, Cycheouts/Cycheouts Ghost, Traffic Jammies, and a few other people, I tend not see a lot of this kind of music from Japan. In fact, DJ Shimamura is the only Breakbeat Hardcore from Japan that I know, and he's not making as much of it these days as he did in the early 2000s.

Pic is a list I and some other people made for /mu/ for Breakbeat Hardcore.

Also I am glad I'm not the only Junglist on /jp/>>9031117, >>9034124

That's quality. DJ Crystl's tracks on Lucky Spin Recordings were also great.

My favourite track on Dee Jay Recordings has to be this though:

Splash - Babylon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbPHbAyRSko

But yeah, Dee Jay Recordings and it's partner label Lucky Spin Recordings produced a lot of the best Breakbeat Hardcore and Jungle before 95.

I really am happy to see people listening to Jungle. Most of the people I know don;t even know it's a genre. And I'm a britfag so there should be no excuse for not knowing about it.

I hate how everybody on 4chan falls under most of these categories regarding music:
• listens exclusively to OSTs
• listens exclusively to soulless bleep bloops
• listens exclusively to metal or other forms of aimless noise
• listens to fucking awful borecore /mu/ groups (Of Montreal, GY!BE, Mogwai, Kanye West, etc.)
• obsessed with Fisher-Price dadrock (Queen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc.)
• "I'm a jazz man myself. Miles, Coltrane, the list goes on..."
• "I'm a fan of electronic music. Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, the list goes on... Wait, what do you mean they had synthesizers before the '80s?"
• "My tastes are pretty eclectic. I listen to classic rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, psychedelic rock, punk rock, hard rock, glam rock, and pop rock. Did I mention roll?"
• "I don't like pop music because the lyrics are always vapid and dull, totally unlike myself."
• "No, I don't bother listening to anything recorded before 1965. Is there something wrong with that?"

These are the most prominent stereotypes that pop in my head. If you fall into any of them, I hate you.

I listen to a very wide range of music genres, all sort of different qualities too.

But I listen solely to Touhou arrange music, I'm the kind who downloads and listens to everything from an event that gets leaked.

Do you hate me? Just curious.

inb4 Touhou arrange music has no variety of genre

Huh, I go through phases of each of those genres. My main split is between weeaboo and non-weeaboo music, of the weeaboo kind I listen to denpa, touhou arranges, and vocaloid, sometimes various OSTs or BGM collections.

Outside of music that somehow relates to my internet interests, I'm open to most things but always settle down on prog rock. Recently I've taken a turn towards hiphop.

I personally think that Touhou arrange music has been a good way for me to get to know and appreciate all kinds of music, and I am very thankful for that, even if my Touhou interest doesn't leave me with much time to actively seek out other music.

At the very least, I don't have to be bothered by the worst elitist music-nerds like this.

Anyway, thank you for your input.

I had no idea, he samples a lot of stuff and most of it I haven't bothered to track down.

http://youtu.be/6IWpMZgbhmQ He's great at sampling though, he can practically make an entire song out of it.

I actually listen to a lot of classical, metal, and rap as well, but my favorites are electronic.
