Be Happy! by Burnt Croquette is pretty much my favorite Touhou doujin, or close to it, just for its depiction of their interactions with one another. You should seriously give it a read if you like either of the two, or both of them. Despite the title, their happiness isn't a romantic one. Not by a longshot.

You know what? Kaguya is from the goddamn moon, and I think that's pretty freakin' cool. I think it's also how she wound up so aloof.

And Mokou? She let go of her only chance at death just to get whatever revenge was possible for her father. Kaguya would probably have been that dude's fifth or sixth wife or something, and Mokou would probably never have been important enough to merit an official role in her family anyway, but she went for it. Misguided? Maybe, but what have you done for your parents lately?

They're both okay in my book.

Mokou is as much as a noblewoman as Kaguya ever was but she isn't a stuck up bitch on account of it.

Mokou has long outlived the eminence of the Fujiwara, she knows that so she has no problem with living in the woods like a dirty hobo. She doesn't have to pretend that she's still somebody important.

Kaguya on the other hand couldn't let go of her noble lifestyle. She makes a bunch of poor rabbits treat her like the princess she used to be.

Mokou. Because she's too fucking cool. She makes her immortality more apparent; she's invincible and she knows it. Her lines in IN as well as her spellcards makes it apparent that she's an elite. Not to mention she also put Aya in her place in the interview. Truly a noble. There's also something subtle about her, I can't put finger on it, but there's something she's very reserved that just blows me away...
