That feel when the people making "me too!" or "omg i like this!" posts always age.
That feel when the people who use sage the traditional way are making comparatively higher quality posts.

At least other boards are consistent. The point of sage in the Japanese/textboard sense is that you only age if your post is worth bringing to the attention of the board (since people generally see threads in "bump order"). If the complete opposite is happening and most people are using userscripts and the Catalog/Gallery anyway, why bother?

It's like you guys are trying to fill a sage quota just to reinforce your "elitist" status.

>> No.8995615

I still laugh at how faggots like yourself who yearn so hard to be Wapanese that you think sage means the same thing it does on 2ch or 2channel.

The use of sage on 4chan has - and always will be - used in a derogatory way to say "fuck you" without having to say it. It does not mean or have the same use as it does on our Japanese counterpart boards, where it's a casual feature everyone uses to reply without bumping a thread with their post. With the exception of 3-4 aspies on /jp/ who try and use it "the Japanese way", everybody on this website considers sage to be a rude thing.

Pull your head out of your ass, this is 4chan and it's full of assholes. If not using sage bothers you maybe you need to stop posting on imageboards and go back to Gaia or DA.

This this this. Thank you, probably-kopipe adaptation of kopipe.

Everyone ever agrees the proper way of using sage is great. It's a feature all forums should have, a way to say "HELLO I AM MAKING A POST" that doesn't need to be brought to everyone's attention.
However, on 4chan it carries a different meaning, thanks to the original FAQ and mods going so far as to ban people who do or don't sage. So we use it the 4chan way here, because we're on 4chan.

It's like being offered a chair in a French restaurant, then you say "NO THANK YOU, I'LL SIT SUDOKU ON MY TATAMI."

We all judge you poorly. Consider that most of our userbase knows what nokosage is, but choose to use sage in order to make it visible, both to set an example and show some humility.

No really, he has a point.

I've seen plenty of people who are shocked at how often we sage, and then they "get it" and join in. Our sage rate has dropped from 50% to 25% in the last year. Now it's probably even lower.

WHERE'S YOUR WAPANESE SPIRIT?!

>> No.8995679

If I address someone directly I favor sage regardless of board, it's probably a two-person conversation no one cares about.

"[Subject] General" threads are sometimes circlejerky and such conversations could probably benefit from some sage.

I sage when I post in bad threads even with good replies (unless it has taken a fun direction or something).

So fuck you, I'm judging the thread whether you like it or not.

Also Facebook doesn't have a dislike button. I made a group that said if 100,000,000 people joined, they'd add one. So maybe they will.

However, it's a lot easier to get people "re-banned" until they stop. Maybe the mods will learn and step up banning names/tripcodes (there's a system in place already, why doesn't this happen more often?)

I don't get this.

I never really have a problem with it, but it just feels kind of pointless. Isn't there an in-game chat or something? I'm not into online games, but it seems more like a platitude that fills up the threads rather than a genuine mark of politeness.

I'm pretty sure that's because most of the people making those posts are new to this board or just more likely to be bad posters and not because of inconsistency in the use of sage among established users.
