One time I didn't talk for so long I seriously forgot how to talk.

I've found that singing helps to fast-track relearning or getting better at speaking normally more so than normally speaking itself does so you might want to try that.

I have a problem that when I don't talk and I watch a bunch of shows that they influence or give me an accent. One time I had not talked for a month and had been watching some black shows and when I finally did go online and talk I was confused for a black man. Same thing happened again but this time I was confused for a Russian and the next time a Canadian. This is a problem for me, any ideas?

I can understand this, but they are also not forcing you to talk when you get in. There were a lot of people on last night which they said wasn't common for that time of night, which was probably because of all the new people.
From what I understand most of the people in there have been talking to each other for quite some time and are used to each other so it's not as hard for them as it is for someone who doesn't talk to anyone.
So just sit in the channel with everyone and listen to them, when you're ready you can say something if you want and if you can get a word in. Or go use one of the other 20 channels, someone will probably come talk to you.

Oh, a novel idea is that of the audio letter.

I know I probably won't have the time with my messed up schedule to talk to someone consistently online, but something like this, I can do on and off during the terrible hours that I'm free. It's basically a letter, but instead of being written, it's recorded. Using Audacity or something like it. You'll have decent control over it so you can mess up as often as you like without much pressure (I usually just half-ass my recordings since I never seem to get any better!). And you won't have to worry about being inaudible because you can always play it again.

Probably not quite what people have in mind when they're practicing talking, but it's an alternative!

Yeah theres been a huge number in the general channel lately, which gets pretty hectic when everybody is talking about all sorts of things. I try to throw people into their specific game channels when it gets to be a problem but often times nobody else has anything to say.

Also lots of laughing and loudness, it sounds like a huge normalfag emporium but its the only outlet in which we can laugh and talk to people of similar interests, because we sure as hell aren't gonna go outside to do so. The fact we've been together for a while helps a lot but we're receptive of new people.

Most of the conversation now is just three people discussing an MMO, the rest of the members are listening quietly or chiming in periodically. We have had people join in the past 24 hours who have started out completely silent to begin with who are now partaking in small talk and conversations. It's heartwarming.

It's by no means facebook, but it may be more conversation then some are used to. If you join and you don't like it nobody is forcing you to stay.

However i'm not going to just let arguable terms go undefended, no matter whose side its for. It is a mumble full of /jp/ers, we're a lot more eager to speak because we've known eachother for a long time. It turns into gun discussion due to a few cross-browsing /k/ goers (a lot more common than you think, for /jp/) and a quite a few /tg/ cross-browsers as well (even MORE common).

If it doesn't suit your taste, you might enjoy the various /jp/ IRCs where they talk about drugs and/or HRT therapy. You'll have to get used to the fact that /jp/ has a lot of varying hobbies, and when we have nothing else to do we talk about those hobbies. You don't -have- to join. You don't even have to post in this thread.
