Shin Ramyun is one of the better brands, yes. It has that distinct 'ramen' smell that cheap ramen usually doesn't, and it's made in the US, so chances are it's better quality than what's made in Asia. Hopefully.

Make your own broth for it though. Use miso. I use freeze-dried miso powder, but you could also use the ready-made paste. Miso ramen actually has nutritional value, whereas ramen with just, like, MSG and flavouring packet broth doesn't.

I used to live on ramen until I realized that cabbage soup is just as cheap and easy to make, and won't result in me getting scurvy. I live almost exclusively on cabbage soup. You can throw in some other cheap vegetables and/or very cheap sausage or hot dogs and you'll last a long while. I don't like food in general so it's not like getting tired of eating cabbage every day is a concern.

My Shin Ramyun recipe:

4 eggs, nori seaweed, finely chopped red chilli, sesame oil (for seasoning), a few slices of bacon. Sometimes a bit of kimchi helps with the dietary fibre so I can take a shit afterwards.

Same goes for Shin Ramyun.
