Ever seen Touhou merchandise in "the wild"? I saw some figures for sale in my local weeaboo store in LA and was pleasantly surprised. They only had Marisa and Reimu though.

I went to a convention last year and saw an Okuu figure for $250 and laughed at their homofarts.

A little markup is understandable if you're buying imported figures, but the price gouging that some of those fuckers try is outrageous.

They're preying on this narrow market of people who probably don't even know who the characters are (or else they would certainly know where to buy them cheaper) and have money to set on fire for figures of characters they have no connection to.

It would be one thing if there was some secret handshake you could give the dealer, where it's like, "BRO. This shit costs $80, do you want to do business or not?" but those scumbags will walk a deal and sit on it waiting for the kind of secondary scum I just described.

There's a shop called Anime Jungle in LA that had a number of Touhou figures last I was there. They were absurdly expensive though, up to $300.

I really wanted to buy PCB, but it was $40, and I can't really justify that.
