I think I messed up badly, /jp/.

I've been taking prescription painkillers for a while now, and just now it was time for my dose. I grabbed a bottle of water to wash it down with and took a big gulp, only to find that it was the bottle I pissed in last night when I didn't want to leave my computer.

Normally, when this happens I'd just spit it out, but I didn't want to waste perfectly good medication and mess up my rations, so I just swallowed it.

Is my pain medication going to work? Are there any interactions between 12+ hour old urine and painkillers that I should be aware of? I don't want to die or anything.

To my knowledge you have nothing to worry about. Urine is mostly water, to such a degree that you can actually substitute drinking water with urine, though not for very long as your blood urea levels will get very high after a few days.

As for interactions: most of what is in your urine is present in your digestive system anyway. You should be a-ok

Hmm, this is good to know. Out of curiosity, just how much urine is too much? If I could substitute urine for about half the water I drink, I'd only have to get up half as often I think.

That shit tastes kind of nasty though, I guess I'll have to see if it's worth the trade-off.

If you're taking an opiate, OP, then you've just ingested metabolic wastes of your liver processing opiates + good opiates. Urine is a sterile saline when it exits the body, so you're all good.

Please learn to put your piss bottle away from the other stuff. Corner of the room works fine. Even badgers don't excrete where they sleep and eat, dude.
