I like Koishi, but not in the I find her lovely way, but in the I find her fascinating/horrifying way.

Her existence is one of the worst fates imaginable. Reposting something I said in the previous sticky.

Cogito Ergo Sum, I think therefore I am. Thing with Koishi is that she doesn't think. She does not reflect. She does not ponder. She just does and goes like like the wind and sea. Not a person, but just a simple thing.

Everything about her has no meaning behind it, no love, no hate, nothing. Her existence became a meaningless one. They say one truly dies when they're forgotten, but like this, Koishi's existence is hard to even be known about in the first place.

It's also a truly heartbreaking experience when you think about her from Satori's view. Koishi basically just abandoned Satori by closing her third eye.

You know, in the concept of taoism, when you start acting naturally, doing what you want, when you want, when you feel like doing, basically you have achieved a higher status of conscience, just like ther other anon said. And more pressing to the topic, what is the nature of a satori?

A person's nature is colored by their thoughts, their personalities, their actions, and why they do them. To have nearly none of that would be like having no nature at all.

How can something with no nature be more in tune with it. Though I guess if you take the natural order as having no nature itself that it makes a bit more sense that way. However why idealize that? I guess monks might find it peaceful and consider that the epitome of peacefulness with the word. But that's antithetical to modern human progress. You don't go forward by being content with where you are.

It's hard for me to accept Koishi is just abiding by her nature since her entire being and nature before closing her eye was something that did not coincide with that lifestyle at all.

In fact, what does nature even mean here? Isn't the word defined as being what the person is like and not the other way around? If a person likes honey, you could say it's in his nature to like honey, but you wouldn't ever say that if he's never had honey or dislikes it. If you did then that would just be an assumption.

The Koishi you normally see is just her subconscious walking around while her true consciousness stays inside a closed off world. It's also kind of sad when you think about it like that in that we've never seen the real(maybe conscious would be a better word?) Koishi.

But that's basically just allowing your Id to take over. To do what you want whenever you feel like it and not be bound to anything actually is a topic I wrote about in a paper about the concept of true freedom and how it could possibly be accomplished. The problem with this type of mindset is that it will always conflict if another of similar mind shows up. In current times having everybody like this is simply not conducive towards anything especially itself.

The only way I figured true freedom in the purest sense could exist for everyone and everybody is if we created a supernetwork of computers that gave every person their own universe to affect and make with safeguards for interacting with others while working with experiences and realities of all types with the freedom of being a God. And even then there was the issue of getting in the thing in the first place. I ended up talking with the teacher about the unrealisticness of this, but even then I felt this was the only feasible way in reality to construct a world where such perfect freedoms could exist without conflict. And even then truly harming another would still be impossible even if you could hurt a perfect facsimile.

Which is kind of funny since not too long after that I ended up reading a story about such a thing on the internet. Don't remember what it was called, but the most notable thing about it was that it had a concept of death games and it ended with two people breaking the existence then living a naturalistic type life in an abandoned world.

The free to do anything and does it mindset is at the current time too unfeasible to be called anything but childish.

Yeah, I understand your point, and it really makes sense, since being free from everything would be pretty much impossible, unless you live completely isolated from society. But that's why the path ( The path on taoism means the path to the true freedom, the inner peace, for example, when you're in a crowded place, but you still manage to be quiet in your own mind, a blank state) is endless, because it's appanretly impossible to reach the end. I see Koishi as a way that ZUN represented that concept, where Koishi would be truly the one that found the perfect state, the "end of the path". I still wonder why didn't he focus a lot on her, since that reaching such a high position would at least deserve a more important position on the storyline. Maybe in the next game, who knows. Or maybe he just got some ideas from his mind and applied on Koishi. I hope it's the former option.
