Stop being a lowly and useless piece of garbage and fight for your freedom. Getting a job isn't hard. Even if it's worthless and menial, you will have the money to do anything you want. Going to university isn't difficult. Even if you're alone and suffer from social anxiety, it won't matter when you know more than anyone else.

Don't you want money and freedom? Wouldn't it be nice to live in an apartment all alone, pursuing your dreams without anyone bothering you, yelling at you, or hitting you? Just take the first step outside. That's all it takes.

I'm living by myself in a city 5 hours away from my parents while they pay for my expenses so I don't even need a part time job, the only downside is that I'm going to uni, but I'm studying game development and most of the classes are utterly retarded and/or I get to do nothing at all (really, some teachers just have nothing to teach).

I don't want to spend 5 more years of my life getting a BA and MA in history, just so I can teach high school. The pay sucks outside of a few states, too, and those states probably have high costs of living anyway so I'm stuck. I just want to get some 9-5 job out of high school and live in a small apartment or condo near the suburbs or something.

I never want any expensive luxuries and I'm willing to settle for my old computer and broken headphones and such. However, I recently became aware that if I had disposable income, I could buy alcohol whenever I like. And in large quantities. The thought was so tempting I drafted a CV.

So basically, by not getting a job, I am preventing myself from becoming a dangerous alcoholic.

Well, I got offered free housing by the university I'm attending, so I'm already out. That'll make at least 4 years out of my dad's home if I can carry on with the course. I can't grasp the future very well, but I hope to be employed right away after getting my diploma, which isn't very unlikely, as I'm aiming for a bachelor degree as an optical physicist which are currently lacking around here.

This. I watched the local news a couple of days ago and somebody my age with more experience and more qualifications had applied to over 200 jobs and never heard back. He actually got a job because he met the owner of a car dealership while appearing on the news.

There are plenty of 40-year-olds with over 20 years of experience looking for work. How am I supposed to compete with them?

My mom is old, obese, sickly, and according to the doctors, supposed to be dead. She hasn't been outside except to go to doctors for over 6 years. Obviously doesn't work. She just watches TV and gets a government check every month. She's the one living the dream.

I stay here and take care of her, I guess you could say. I pay for half of everything and get her medicine. I pretty much hate her because she's a rude conservative bitch, but because I'm her only child who stayed with her (the others moved out when they were 18) she's leaving everything she owns to me when she dies.

Seems worth it to me. Surely she'll die before long anyway. Then again, every time she's gone to the doctors for the past 6 years they say she has basically no chance and will only live for another month or so... and she's still alive, so who knows.
