Today's forecast says there's supposed to be thunderstorms. Growing up my favorite time of year was late summer. Storms that time of year are common and we get maybe 70% of our yearly rainfall at that time. Even now it's nice, because it's one of the few times of the year when there's a chance I'll experience weather changes.

Around here, it's almost always sunny and it very rarely rains. It's actually a bit depressing to wake up, excitedly look outside, only to see a clear blue sky. There aren't even very many clouds. It seems that it's mostly either overcast or completely clear, and weather conditions tend to last throughout the day.

A few years ago when I went on vacation I stayed on an island, and the weather there was unpredictable and made just being outside interesting and fun. The clouds moved so fast, rain started and stopped, and the breeze was cooling. The breeze here is like a hair dryer. It's not cooling at all. There's no reason to own a jacket here either, nor an umbrella, or even pants. A t-shirt and shorts will serve you fine year-round.
