DSM-IV-TR, this is the official criteria for US clinicians to diagnose Schizoid Personality Disorder:

4 or more of the following:

>neither desires nor enjoys close relationships, including being part of a family
>almost always chooses solitary activities
>has little, if any, interest in having sexual experiences with another person
>takes pleasure in few, if any, activities
>lacks close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
>appears indifferent to the praise or criticism of others
>shows emotional coldness, detachment, or flattened affectivity (flat affect is generally the outward appearance of a depressed person)

These symptoms can be found in many other disorders.

Self diagnosis a shit.

More importantly, is there any money in being a Schizoid?

I should actually get tested for this.

This is why it is being "removed" in DSM-5:

Me all over. I think nothing of it though, just a name and it changes nothing for me.

Schizotypal is pretty much the same but it also means you hold CRAZY views about UFOs and scary ghosts.

Yeah, it really does sound like DARK AND BROODING: THE DISORDER. And that's fine, but all these traits exist elsewhere, even in other personality disorders.

This girl I knew online had some form of schizophrenia, basically she heard voices. She had to go to group like once a week, take some meds, all that kind of stuff. She wasn't some shut-in either, she was basically a depressive who exacerbated her illness with drugs and alcohol. Which made her worse.

She never told me the exact amount she got from her schizochecks, but it was enough to buy a 700$ laptop one month. She lives in California.
