Hello /jp/!

I plan on going on a culture experience trip to Japan sometime next year (as you can guess, yes, I am a huge Wapanese faggot) I am already well acquainted with the Japanese language, having learned both Hiragana and Katakana syllabries, and a good bit of Kanji (just enough to carry a conversation, basic terms). I'm pretty much set when it comes to communication while I'm in japan, as well as the fact that I've read up on and studied a lot of Japanese culture, etiquette, etc. I plan on staying over there for roughly a week, possibly two if I have the funds. If I enjoy it there, and have enough reason, I may consider changing my college major plan to English Literature, with minors in Japanese language & culture, and education on top of that. Possibly finding a job as an English language professor.

After that short briefing, here is my question:

Have any of you otakus/weeaboos ever visited/lived in Japan? What was it like, what were some of your experiences with daily life, mingling with other citizens, finding work, and etc?

I know this may sound like a pretty general question, but if anyone has actually been to the country for an extended period, I would greatly appreciate your insight.

Thanks! ^_^

This is not copypasta. I just wanted to run this by /jp/ first before I started a thread in the travel board.

First I was thinking to help you about staying in Japan and about working as english teacher, but then you destroyed everything with calling yourself " wapanese faggot"

stay better in your country , Japan isn't honey and milk or some dream from your anime, also you are staying for 1 week only

I called myself Wapanese faggot out of shame, for it would already be called out upon in the replies, so i might as well have said it myself.

I'm not your typical faggot who wants to go to the country out of the love for anime or pop culture, but rather the allure of being a part of their society, of which i find very interesting. At least to the point where I've taking the necessary steps toward learning the language and proper etiquette to help assimilate myself into their culture as one who appreciates, and wants to understand.

You've got the wrong image of myself, friend.

May I also add, this first week is just a culture experience. Just to feel things out and to see if i really want to go deeper into my affinity for the country.

(Side note: excuse any typos, I'm not too keen on my grammar at this time of day.)

OP, could you at least put your questions more specifically?

I was really just asking for others to share their experiences in the country, is all. No real specificity, but rather a discussion/general for those who have been to the country, which i'm guessing is a very select few of you.

I know the language fairly well, so I'll probably just direct myself to either the travel or international boards, thank you.

Sorry for disturbing the peace and serenity of /jp/.

finding work is going to be a hell, enjoy being kicked out of the country when your visa ends and not being able to reconduct it.

They "appreciate" gaijins as tourists, aka income.
Gaijin do not live in glorious nippon, go fuck yourself, if they want english teacher, they'll have some japanese study abroad and become one, why do you think they all suck so hard at foreign language ?
protip: it's not because it's hard.

Enjoy your overpriced rent for your 2 tatami room and japanese only area.

I'm not otaku for anime/manga, neither am I obese. That phrase doesn't apply to most Japanese fanatics.

Good day! ^_^

Do note that most /jp/ers won't even take a step out of their own houses. Asking if anyone experienced Japan is futile here.
